I agree with you. but then again our public is not interested in technical details and giving a tinned down version of an event doesn't sell well.
for me it wasn't even worthy a press release at ISPR level.

media, governments, bloggers, analysts and politicians pick up current buzz words and catchy phrases and add them in their commentary in order to get the attention of people who have a very short attention span and have delegated logical thinking and common sense to mainstream media that has best music, best rants, best religious and patriotic outburst. opinion makers (public/ private/ Govt) on both sides of the border do this.. the west is expert in this but worse of all far right extremists (religious, secular) have mastered the art of manipulation and exaggeration through the use of social media.

drone is something that is unmanned so by defination they are not wrong you know.DJI having a range of more than 5km are very effective albiet expendable spy drones.
Anyways some time earlier a "quadcopter" was shot down and images were retrived off its cache or on board sd card idk

this is a good counter narrative and I tend to agree with you as well.
but when we talk about spy drones we are thinking about bigger machines. like say the one shot down near Lahore by F-16.

That's a Quad copter, not a drone! When people say drone, I normally imagine a UAV.
