first their govt dying to have pakistani leader in bangladesh & when PM & Pres dont visit atlast Pak FM agreed for visit on bangladesh invitation & some idiots are asking wht we can get from Pakistan buddy ask this to ur govt or else learn some thing abt economy & world politics.

plus nice to see that bangladesh will be 5 trillion economy by 2050 (in pridictions by a bankcrupt institution) from current 300 billion$ & wht u think when bangladesh can become 5 trillion frm current level than imagine with so many resources & influence where Pakistan will be from current more than half trillion economy...

The thing which really matters here is stable economy and good business environment. Pakistan is lagging in both and it will make the difference. Other thing is that bangaladesh is utilizing it's human resouces both male and female for the economical activity which is not happening in Pakistan. Education is the other thing where Pakistan is lagging Bangladesh. Since 2008 Bangladesh is achieving higher GDP growth then Pakistan which will not reverse any time soon. So the advantage that pak has wil fed away over the years.

Regarding natural resouces Bangladesh has much better potential then pak at least in terms of oil and gas. But apart from all these hope pakistan will be able to keep pace with both India and Bangladesh in terms of development.

That's why I asked which are the areas where co operation can take place that I am not aware of? Until Pakistan submit a written apology for it's crime and genocide I dnt see much prospect in the relationship. But in terms of defense and creating market there could be little co operation.

look its the bd forin minister ms dipo moni who invited pak foreign minister ms hina rabbani khar to which the Pakistan foreign minister replied humbly so if you are angry it would be better for you to ask your your foreign minister why did she invited ms.rabbani sorry but you got your priorites @ the wrong place as for apology agree Pakistan should apologize & i throughly condemn their actions having said that Bangladesh must also apologize for the "agartalla conspiracy" after all you cannot expect rose petals in return for such treacheries either.

This is natural. Any country who is weak at a certain stage starts to climb to the top again...

-Saudi Arabia under King Faisal were going through U.S sanctions, Arab-Israel War. Today they are among emerging developed countries

I guarantee you. Pakistan has so many resources, and man power potential that it can surpass India or whole of south asia... Don't believe me? Karachi was a role model city in Asia and PIA was one of the best airlines in the world. Heck even Korea is developed based on that. This has been proven under General Ayub Khan (the guy on my avatar) era... We are going through a rough patch but that doesn't conclude anything permanent does it?

We have no problem whether foreign minister of Pakistan or any other country's coming. We just want not to make sure it does not become show visit and naturally trying to focus which are the areas where discussion can take place and bd can be benifitted. This is quite natural.

Regarding comparing it comes mostly after post by people like Al-Zakir. N comparison only happen when people try to show they are superior and others counter that. Indonesia, turkey etc are much ahead and it is known by all. So need for comparison. Same way bd does not compare with Nepal, Afghanistan etc.

Regarding your comment of Pakistan forum and privilege sort of stuff I would like to remind you this is an open discussion forum. Good and bad of every country is discussed here just other then that of some banned topic. If any negative thread on Pakistan bother you dnt click into that or ask admin to make a rule to make negative thread on any topic of Pakistan under banned list. Until then better keep quite.

Regarding right and privilege I would like to remind you this the user for which this forum is running, generating traffic and making money. This is not Canada or uk where people are dying to go. Without user this forum is nothing. Every one knows it.

Some people need to realize predictions under ground realities... I'm especially talking to Captain Planet here. When positive economic reports regarding India, BD, China, U.S, France in 2050 etc come out, how can you be so sure it will always be 100% correct and will avoid surrounding forces?

I tell you what. Have a look into a country like Iran. I'll bet its power economically was as great power as it was as a Persian Empire. It really is sad when you don't expect the Shah's, then Mullahs to come out to change policies, and then having a million people dieing in the War against Iraq and against other Arabs....

The same goes to the U.S. Did anyone really expect to see their downfall after 9/11, failure in Afghanistan, and economic recessions in a span of just 10 years? Absolutely not.

Anything can happen. Last i heard the world is going to end by the end of this year. I have yet to see any signs.... I'm assuming these media reports are not always correct....

What are areas where Bangladesh and Pakistan can co operate? Pakistan hardly can provide any benefit to Bangladesh... That's what I assume. All current prediction is indicating that Bangladesh will go much ahead of Pakistan in each and every field within next 2 decades.

@ Have you ever realize how quickly we (Bangladeshi) just within three and a half decades have organise and develop of our army ???? And today, we are largest contributor of peace keeping forces in the world. Pakistan has a great contribution in that. We have develop our all military training institution with the help of Pakistan. Pakistan has helped us in Armoured and Air Force training. THey had given us many Tank squdrons, 2/3 aircraft squdron. Pakistan also helped us in small arms. Initially many our Divisions had Pakistan's arms/ammunition. Once insurgency was going on in Chittagong Hill Tracts it was only Pakistan and China who helped us in many aspects. What India has helped us after 1971???? Always screwing us through our all holes.
Pakistan has helped us in this sector, "Dil se, dil khol kar". There were many incidents where once our officers went to India for military training, they were not allowed to go in some areas. But it hardly happened with Pakistan. Even in the UN Mission areas Pakistan has helped and is helping to our military officers in many aspects. " Sub kuch mil jhul kar hota hai "

1) This thread is about Pak FM's upcoming visit to Bangladesh. We should better be positive about it. Otherwise, why to open this thread? This thread is certainly not for talking big about BD's future economic growth or for comparing ours with Pak's.

2) In reality, no one can forecast a future so far from today. Some International Banks and money lending agencies target a few rising countries and keep on predicting the future in order to lure hedge funds that can be invested in such countries' stock markets.

3) At the right moment they come and invest in the stock market. This heats up the market and the locals are lured to invest. A day comes when the hedge funders make a big killing at the expense of the locals, and leave the country never to come back again.

4) This happened to SEA and also to India. The same may happen to the countries the Institutional investors are targeting now. BD seems to be one of those prize countries.

5) A simple calculation shows it will be another 12 years when our GDP will double to $240 billion. Another 10 years to reach a $480 billion target, and another 9 years to reach $960 billion.

So, if everything goes smoothely as predicted, BD will have only a $960 billion GDP in 2043. To make it double to $1,920 billion or say, $2 trillion in the next 7 years BD will have to achieve more than 10% growth every year. There is no question BD economy will be worth $5 trillion by 2050, There are so many unknown factors remain ahead that no one can really predict things even 2 years ahead.

It is useless to talk about a future economic supremacy when currently the GoB is dreaming to send another 10 million (?) labours to water date trees in the middle-east deserts. We nust be realistic about our future.

It is clear that Captain Planet has some personal axe to grind against Pakistan, and is not in tune with almost all other Bangladeshi posters in pdf. May be it has to do with his family background, who knows. Most Bangladeshi's have moved on from what happened 40 years ago. We have to build a future. Getting stuck in the past only serves the RAWamy traitors who were created by India and are still following Indian orders. If the U.S will divert her attention to Pakistan then its going to make a huge mistake. We are a nuclear power and they will reunite us as a nation and will force our relationship with the China, Iran, and Russia to get stronger. If we close the supply line there is nothing they can do other than crying....
Yes they give us aid, but its just peanuts, only 1 or 2% of our GDP so yeah blocking that will make no difference and we have survived world sanctions before......
