Pak bans dirty texting: just say no to monkey crotch

.
I see here people make zest about the four letter words but studiously avoid explaining why Jesus Christ was banned? I remember the 100 threads opened when Swiss banned minarets? Are people here closet Christianityphobes?

Dnt know maybe its a hoax.

Pointless...! These guys must really be bored to comeup with such a list! It's all too easy to bypass.

"Zardari" - Banned

"Z ardari"
"Za Rdari"
"Zard Ari"
"Z-A-R-D-A-R-I"

try Jardari

PTA = Pathetic Telecommunications Authority

Looks like a PPP is simply sick of Pakistanis messaging them all day..so they decided to ban all the words!

. .
The news has provided the solution also:

It’s unclear how telecom companies who cannot even filter out commercial spam will be able to handle this new morality burden. But Pakistanis, used to growing online censorship administered by the PTA, took little time to come up with the obvious workaround to the SMS censorship. The offending words are numbered on the blacklist. Many including @SamadK came up with the idea, “Now instead of typing the whole gaali you just need to send the number. Thank you PTA for making is even lazier.”

Hi,

Do what I do----why do you thi-nk I do th-at. Just was getting used to the idea of getting some wo-rds be-ing ba-nned in pak---istan.

Now--you kn-ow---th-ere is a rea-son why we sen-iors do wh-at we do.

You wi-ll lea-rn in ti-me---if you ha-ve any conf-usion---ju-st read my sig-nat-ure. That wil clear things up.

The urdu list should be used in teaching urdu/hindi to non native speakers.
A fun way to learn a new language. Thanks PTA>

The real problem is unsolicited text messages, whether obscene or not. Thus, instead of trying to censor certain words, governments around the world should require mobile companies to have a system whereby only people who are in your contacts list can send you text messages.

I suspect every Pakistani will soon be an ustad in l33t speak to get around this SMS problem.

. .
A quick question. Can it be called an attack on freedom of speech?

Yup... Just like the stupid TRAI which came up with the 100sms/day limit. You can't even send msg in case of emergency, heck not even to customer services once the limit is reached. Thank god they expanded it to 200sms.

Smartphone users have software options with which you can make a 'black list' or 'white list' for both calls and sms. I think some networks also provide black list service, not sure.

We're against it but as someone has previously mentioned, this government is a joke.
A Pakistani is a Pakistani - whether he's/she's a Muslim or Christian or whatever, he/she should have religious freedom.
