pak has only 30-50 weapons, not quite enuf to maintain a robust second strike capability. u r right though, pak doesnt need to develop a fusion weapon because it needs more fission weapons.

Enough fuel for a 100 weapon is not a 100 weapon. A weapon by any defintion is something in ready to be used form. A nuclear exchange will not last for a year. It will last for a matter of hours, not quite enough time to convert fuel into weapons.

Its possible to make a 500kiloton fission weapon as well as a 400kiloton fusion weapon. fusion weapons were never as popular as boosted fission weapons for a number of reasons.

Sub 500Kiloton fusion weapons have been tested by India. (ok that was a joke)

Pakistan wants to have at least 300 nukes eventually. Right now it is thought to have at least 70 nukes of all yields and sizes.
