The Pak-Afghan Traders and Custom Clearance Agents have complained that due to bad trade policies most of the traders in Afghanistan have started investment via Chahbahar port where India has spent billion dollars to boost trade between Afghanistan and Iran.

Talking to media, a senior Pak-Afghan Transit Trade Custom Clearance Agent, Gulab Shinwari said that thousands of Pak-Afghan transit trade containers have stranded at Karachi port.
He said that traders were facing big loss as they have to pay demurrage money every day from last many months for these stranded containers.

He demanded those stranded containers should be released soon and should be exported via Chaman and Torkham border that the traders could avoid further loss.

The custom department services and operations at Torkham should be carried out 24/7 hours and more export trucks should be cleared daily.

Another trade union leader and president of Pakistan customs clearance agents association Ziaulhaq Sarhadi said that ban on Pak Afghan transit trade and export have caused a huge economic loss to Pakistan national exchequer.

The trade ministry despite a big loss to trade in Pakistan was not giving attention to resolve this issue and restore the trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Sarhadi stated and added that Torkham custom department should be made 24/7 hours operational to help restore the trade between two countries.

Another trade union leader Imtiaz Ali Khan said that due to the bad trade policies of the government the traders of Iran and central Asian countries were interested in Afghanistan now and they have started investment and launched trade activities via Chabahar port of Iran where India has spent billion dollars to boost trade between Iran, India and Afghanistan.

He said that Prime minister Imran Khan has been kept unaware about the trade decline between Pakistan and Afghanistan and the bilateral trade between these two countries has almost come to an end.

It was inevitable once Chahbahar became partially operational. As it moves to full interoperability trade will be diverted via that route and with it will decline Pakistan's opportunity of constant blackmail and threats towards Afghanistan.
It will finally free the Afghans to trade with whomsoever they wish to.

LOL no one in Pakistan gave a crap. As if Afghans have anything to trade. If the Afghans have some self-esteem they would also take back their refugees languishing in Pakistan.

I doubt the way things are going on in Afghuniland it will last for Ghani, The Afghan Taliban are going full blaze at Afghan puppet backed regime, Taliban are grabbing more territory and soon Kabul will be overtaken.

Guess what, Pakistan want to discourage anything coming or going to Afghanistan. In future you will see Pakistan bypassing Afghanistan all together by extending KKH to CAR STAN states via China Xinjiang province.

Outside India, no major nation uses Chabahar due to concerns over heavy USA sanctions on Iran. Afghanistan's economy has been horrible for years despite moving trade to Iran from Pakistan. Chabahar is not a game changer for Afghanistan since Kabul regime has been using Bandar Abbas for many years now with no real improvement to their economic situation.

Guess what, Pakistan want to discourage anything coming or going to Afghanistan. In future you will see Pakistan bypassing Afghanistan all together by extending KKH to CAR STAN states via China Xinjiang province.

Pakistan has already bypassed A-Stan by using alternative Chinese route to Central Asia, and the arrangement is called The Quadrilateral Traffic in Transit Agreement (QTTA).

As for fencing a border where none exists, this is a Pakistani obsession . The temporary Durand line agreement EXPIRED and as the Taliban have made clear , they , nor any other Afghan accepts the fanciful border .

Once a unified Taliban are in power they will ensure the Afghan nation is reverted to its ORIGINAL and real border.

The final struggle for the unification of the Afghan people is nearly at hand.
It will take many decades and maybe generations but the Afghan nation will reunite its disparate peoples

Bandar Abbas was VERY RARELY used by Afghans if ever, hence the demand for Chahbahar by both the Iranians and the Afghans

So just trade union leaders' statements. They want liberalization of transit routes, which Pakistan cannot afford due to Afghan Kabulie designs against Pakistan.

Fencing is our prerogative. We do not have to tolerate smuggling of people and goods through illegal trade routes.

As far as Afghanistan, just as Ch. Rehmat Ali wished, we are fast approaching a new era of friendship. Pakistani influence will reach CARs.

You can't change demography of pakistan. Chabahar project is not an alternative to gwadar project. Iran has many enemies and biggest of them is United States which means more sanctions at any time. I hope everything goes well according to indian wishes but reality is different from imagination.
