What's new

PAF's Exercises from around the World.

Excellent snaps of those beautiful machines.

I don't to hijack the thread but since i somehow I can't start my own thread for some reason. I was just impressed by the number of exercises PAF has participated in. I went looking for similar reports of exercises for IAF but could hardly find couple of them through google.

Why do you guys think IAF is not participating in more multilateral exercises? Are these exercises very expensive to participate in?

IAF is participating and has taken part in many such exercises. Many forces use the vast terrain that India has available for training and partake with the IAF's TACDE for training.

Obviously they won't participate in ones PAF is plus they prefer bilateral exercises over multilateral.

Sir, I know its unrealistic but won't it be a confidence building measure if Indian and Armed forces can participate in few exercises? It would help defuse any future misunderstandings at the border if the soldiers can put a name to the face of "so called enemies". i don't like the practice of dehumanising our opponents. To start with nothing major but something like coast guard operations against pirates. We both face the menace of terrorism so it could be helpful. I know people keep saying that all terrorism in India is PAK sponsored and vice-versa and some of that may even be true but I don't believe everything is the fault of the foreign hand. Its just establishment deflecting their short-comings

Well at UN peacekeepers level they have worked together. CBMs are good but there is too much history between both armies to expect anything. I think your sunderji had invited our chief but it was nixed.
