PAF fighter jets scramble over key cities: spokesman

ISLAMABAD ( 2008-12-22 14:46:27 ) Pakistan's air force on Monday scrambled fighter jets over several major cities in a sign of increased 'vigilance', following last month's deadly attacks on India's financial centre Mumbai.

"In the current environment, PAF has enhanced its vigilance," chief air force spokesman Air Commodore Humaun Viqar Zephyr told AFP.

Residents in the capital Islamabad, the nearby garrison city of Rawalpindi and Lahore made panicked telephone calls to media outlets to ask about the low-flying fighter jets.

Relations between Pakistan and India have deteriorated in the wake of the Mumbai attacks, which left 172 dead including nine of the gunmen.

Earlier this month, Islamabad accused India's air force of violating its airspace over Lahore and Azad Kashmir.

PAF must have noticed some indian movement on their radars coz otherwise there is no point in doin this. also its quite obvious that they are not doin this only after readin some news articles.

Sonia warns Pakistan

JAMMU, Dec 21: Congress party chief Sonia Gandhi warned Pakistan on Sunday against “taking India’s wish for peace as a sign of weakness” and said her country was capable of giving a “befitting reply to those using their soil for abetting and promoting terrorism against it”.

“Our wish for peace and friendship should not be taken as a sign of weakness,” Press Trust of India quoted Ms Gandhi as telling an election rally. She said she was disappointed by what she called Pakistan’s failure to reciprocate India’s efforts for better ties.

She said India wanted peaceful and friendly relations with its neighbour in the same way as it wanted peace and tranquillity within the country.

“We have tried to build friendly relations, but it is a matter of regret that they have not understood our feelings,” she said.

Bhaiyo!! India mein General elections hai, In June 2009. Sonia Madam, is addressing a election rally. As simple as that.
She made one statement and PAF , started to circle over PAK cities, And India is not fighting or wishes to Fight against PAK people , they will target terrorist camps and their hideouts. Which i will assume be Far away from Cities and Towns. Unless people of Pakistan consider striking terrorist as its own people.

Im sure PAF maybe detect some IAF jets petrollin near border so maybe thats the reason behind of heavy PAF movement .... anyways PAF ON FIRE! once again!

Yes, that didn't go too well. There were some lessons still to be taught to some.

For the sake of peace and well being of the 1.4 billion South Asians, we all need to try again. May be next time it will be better.
