PAF Reveals Bayraktar Akinci, TB-2, WL2 and Establishment of National ISR and Integrated Air Op Center in a Newly Released Video

Forget the drones the Sams, Just listen... Did I just hear the damn 1990s army ensemble through my pandemic ridden earphones. Now that is a musical song to be proud of. Nostalgia in the rhythm.
Badly written, awful music. Nostalgia is pretty much the only thing it has going on for it.

When DGISPR said we ll surprise you, he meant it.

PAF showed each and every thing in this video from things on design board to operational ones but not Azm MALE UCAV.Thats discouraging and shows lack of interest in local Industry development.
If the local industry can't produce a usable product, PAF won't waste their money on it. Military budget is limited as it is

This is not the case.Localindustry is capable enough to produce MALE UCAVs.I am sure military is buying Turkish drones due to their reputation and their performance in war.If military will continue using local UAVs during anti terrorism and border surveillance ops, local Industry can improve their products further with the help of feedback from military.

Turkish drones are successful because their military used them extensively, gave feedback back to its manufacturers, that helped them to improve their products. So now see where they stand today in UAV field.

So its Turkish military that is behind the success of their domestic industry

But keep in mind it was the Turkish aerospace industry that was developing drones and not the the Turkish Air Force. Everytime PAF spends money on R&D it takes money away from operational expenses and procurement. So it's kind of admirable the kind of R&D they are able to do. In an ideal world the PAF would focus on the air force and a dedicated R&D arm of the PAF or a separate aerospace industry that is independently funded would do the R&D. Hopefully, our economy and people at the top will allow for such a setup to evolve. There is some desire to do so in some quarters at least. Fingers crossed.

EDIT: The point was that the PAF cannot afford to sink money long term into R&D, which is something required for R&D. Consequently, PAF has less appetite for risk, low patience and high/unrealistic expectations. This is why it's hard for PAC to compete with Turkish industry.

You don't buy a weapon system as a "tit for tat"

Rather the UCAVs are for counter insurgency and anti-armor
These 2 statements need to be our mantra for the next 5 years. It is important to give a logical path to all inductions.
Ie. Akinci and TB2 counter insurgency and western border serveillance
J10C. Medium weight fighter to supplement F16s which we cannot get
HQ9 self defence system in the light of attacks seen in UAE/Saudia from terrorists.
Unfortunately we have not yet learnt to play the game on narrative building. It needs to be played to show the world we are a responsible and internally focused nation.
The "other" benefits need to be downplayed for another 5 years while we make a serious effort to build up our economy. Jingoism in this day and age needs to be avoided at all cost in our current environment.
In the meanwhile carry on working hard to build your defences and make them impregnable to all filthy prying eyes.

So you can usurp whatever you want and we should keep quiet. Just because you have held a peace of land against UN resolutions does not make it yours. It is a disputed territory and will remain so. You need to restore its status and then invite us for talks.
