Wednesday, July 31, 2013 - This is in reference with the news story regrading fuel tanks jettison by a Pakistan Air Force jet into Indus river in the countrys northwest on Wednesday 25th July 2013 without any loss of life or property on the ground. The incident motivated me to write few lines in praise of PAF pilot who competently tackled the unavoidable situation during his training mission.
Jettisons of these fuel tanks on population could have caused a serious damage to lives and property. Flying is not a sweet cake, and keeping ones senses in balance and taking cruicial decisions within friction of time during any mishap in the air while flying a fighter plane is a tough task to do and require some extraordiinary mental and physical capabilities.
Whatever the technical reasons of the mishap could be, pilots professional competency in making every possible effort to save the PAF aircraft worth billions, and his dedication to assure safety of innocent lives on ground by risking his own life are really commnedable. Hats off to our air warriors.
