PAF GOES FOR ANATOLION EAGLE 2008

So we were there with Israel in 04??????? how is that posible?

No there is a difference. Like at Red Flag which runs 3 exercises per year, AE runs upwards of 4 exercises within the year. PAF and IDFAF have never participated together in an exercise. However we have exercised with the USAF, TuAF, RAF, AdlA (French Air Force), Luftwaffe, Royal Netherlands AF, Italian AF, and the Jordanian AF while attending the last 3 AE exercises. This will be the fourth appearance for the PAF..in the order AE-04/3, AE-06/2, AE-07/2, and AE-08/4.

Israelis went this year and attended AE 2008/3. I suspect PAF is there for the last one for the year 2008. So we are probably attending 2008/4.

This will be an excellent experience for the PAF. Hopefully they will be able to learn more about other varients of F-16s that Turkey has to further their own knowlage in this legendary war bird.

Turkish army in action with all units in Anatolian eagle exercises 2007-2008...

Turkey is planning to buy S-300 and Tor-M1 air defence systems to integrate Ehtes software (Havelsan) Electronical warfare, threat and watch system at Anatolian Eagle exercises..

Turkey to buy S-300 systems for testing

"These missile systems are intended to be used for testing and training purposes to simulate threats that may come from countries with ex-Soviet systems in their inventories," a local defense industry source told Today's Zaman. The decision to buy former Soviet-designated SA-12 (300V version) and SA-10 (S-300) missile systems, as well as SA-15 short and medium-range TOR systems, at a cost of around $100 million, was made during an executive committee meeting of the Undersecretariat for the Defense Industry (SSM) on July 22, but it was not made public. Sources close to the project said the systems will be tested mainly with F-16s using the EHTS system, which has been moved from Eskişehir to the central Anatolian town of Konya, some 250 kilometers from Ankara, where a regional combat readiness simulation center is located.

so you think Russia will sell S-300 to turkey after Russian-Georgian war? apparently turkey was supporting NATO and Georgia.

I heard this is bilateral... So only Turkey and Pak. Anyone able to confirm this?

anyway... here a pic...

Its amazing to see the way the career of Air Marshal Shahid Latif has progressed. He is currently Vice Chief of the Air Staff and has been in all of the right key appointments. Hopefully beyond the current chief, he will be picked to run the PAF.
