PAF denies reports about Pakistan interested in buying F-35.

I've said this multiple times, and people keep ignoring me: Pakistan was rejected by the US years ago, when it comes to buying the F-35. PAF will not see the F-35 ever, unless US policy towards Pakistan and India changes, which it won't.

PAF's best chance is China.

Pakistan is now making 50% parts for JF-17 and we need a FGF so its logical to switch production to J-31 in early 2020s. China is building J-31 for exports and Pakistan requires 5-6 squadrons i.e. around 100 fighters. So build them in Pakistan with ToT.
PAF's requirements for the J-31 aren't 100 fighters, it's 35-50. The 5th gen will primarily be used as front line air defense, to counter India's advanced 4++ and 5th gen fighter fleet. It's a deterrent, nothing more.

Besides, maintaining 100 5th gen fighter is beyond Pakistan's financial capability.

The price of J-31 will be cost effective if we skip 4++ fighters like J-10 and Su-35 and go straight for FGF. Pakistan should take next step and license built FGF in Pakistan replacing JF-17 production in 2020s. By 2030s the older F-16s will also face retirement and J-31 is best choice at present.

Pakistan IS skipping the 4++ generation, my point already takes this into consideration. The J-31 is suppose to cost anywhere between $100 million to $120 million per plane, then comes maintenance costs, fuel...etc. 100 planes is just too much for Pakistan. Even by 2030, when Pakistan's economy is expected to be around upper middle level ($700 billion+) it will still be hard pressed to afford such a thing. 35-50 is a reasonable number for a defensive nation, getting a 100+ is something that Pakistan may not even consider, as 6th gen fighters are expected to come into production very soon. Development times between future gen fighters is starting to decrease dramatically.

On a side note: I think that by 2050, I think the PAF fleet will probably consist of at least 50% of either multi-role, or air defense UCAVs.

This statement is illogical ! The 5th generation fighters are: F-22, F35, PAK FA, J-20 and J-31. The F-22 and J-20 are not going to be exported. PAK FA is unavailable to Pakistan. That leaves F-35 and J-31 as the only options for PAF at the present time.

F35 is only been sold or given to US defence partners or who were involved in corporation & of course whatever US makes Israel is the second country to get all US high tech hardware.

No source.....means it is lie....that news (interest in F-35) was reported not only by Urdu but English newspapers also...and this news has no source at all. And OP is a liar by the definition of news until he can quote a source.

Sir g i said it depends on China

I also came to know about this sort of comments at different social sites .... but but but .... why the hell they are not issuing any official statement ... a straight forward denial or correction or something fucking official about the matter .... most of the time media strategy of Arm forces of Pakistan appear total failure ....
Could you please not use expeltives while posting. I like your posts but things can be said civilly. Next time I will report and negatively rate a post that is foul. So please refrain from it.

No Country is offering 5th Gen aircraft at least 2020 till then we have many interests to safeguard, i believe PAF realy looking for heavy weight twin engine and i am quite sure PAF will not go for SU-35. Most likely F-18 or Chinese one.
I feel that SU35 is a double ploy. It will come through if we have the money and the russkies are willing. However if the Ruskies refuse, they will not have any excuse from preventing j11/16 series sale to PAF. Either case the Su series will need to have a Chinese AESA and other goodies for it to be palatable for the PAF

The recent events in Syria makes it more difficult that Russia would either sell Su-35 or allow its clone J-18 to be sold to Pakistan.

the french are working on a 6th gen fighter and skipping the 5th gen completely. whilst we are working on a 6th gen fighter too, as we figured the f35 can't do what the typhoon can do. Boeing and lockheed are working on their own proposals for the pentagon to evaluate them for the f-x program. china is no where near able to start on 6th gen fighters, possibly they may be working on concepts and what features it needs. Russia is working on a 6th gen fighter.

pakistan has figured out that the traditional full scale wars are a thing of the past and therefore does not worry too much on its offensive capability. todays launch of the shaheen 3 proves that Pakistan is only interested in deterrence and not to make pointless weapons. as its range is just enough to reach all of india and its islands, and Israel too.

in terms of number of a potential 5th gen fighter for Pakistan. now some of your f16's are old and are from the 1980's and need to replaced in about 10 years and the number of high end fighters (f16's) is about 76. Pakistan wanted 110 f16's [6 squadrons of 18 with 2 spare] now most likely they will get a like for like replacement. or they may get a go for an addition squadron or reduce the size by a squadron.

what else is going to replace them....???
