PAF Air Chief Visits Qatar

Interesting Turkey and Qatar are chosen on farewell tour and not Saudi where PAF has very strong relationship....
PAF also has strong relationship in other Gulf countries e.g Jordan or other countries like Nigeria or China. He doesn't have to to visit all of them.
But yea, a visit to KSA wouldn't be bad.

Agreed, but Qatar is a strange choice, simply because not just the small size but also Qatar ACM was in Pakistan 2 months back, CJCS was in Qatar last month and we carried out joint air exercise in Feb last year. Really feel something is up....

Most likely training opportunities which might be cheaper for Qatar than getting instructors from US/UK. Qatar has assumed quite a central place in Pak calculus for unknown reasons. However it cannot all be bad. Something good has to come Pakistan's way.

Yes, seems more than just raining I would think, already we have joint exercises, sold them Super Mush and train their cadet pilots. Right now with inducting Rafale, Typhoon and F-15Q Qatar simply do not require JF-17 and doubt they have the number of pilots.

I suspect what maybe the case and what you may be referring to is that over the next 3-4 years Qatar will go from needing just 15-18 trained pilots for it's small fleet of 9 12 Mirage 2000s to needing 150-180 pilots for its up coming combined fleet of 100 F-15s, Rafales, Typhoons.

I can tell you now it will be physically impossible for obtain that many pilots from the Qatari national (Citizens) population, and even if you physically could, many may not want to. I suspect you will see quite a few PAF pilots in Qatar....

No visit is ever a farewell by the top hierarchy such as CAS or COAS or CN.

Not quite actually as I'm not sure about his current schedule, just last time when he was in Qatar, he passed by Bahrain for a short work related trip and met my parents for a few hours. His PSO at the time is my relative as well.
Nice was just

PAF fighter pilots will not be flying Rafales, Typhoons and Strike Eagles. Even if Qataris are low on pilots for now. They do have some Pakistanis on staff as civilians and some on deputation at their air force academy. But that's about it, none will be posted to fly fighters.

A good number of Qataris are getting trained on T-38s with USAF as part of their UPT.

None will be OK with Pakistanis or anyone else either. It is not just a Pakistani thing. They want their own people to have jobs and rightly so.

Pakistanis ask for high contracts as well when they are looking for contract work as IPs.

Qatar will have its pilots trained in all three countries. On top of that, its a mistake to assume all of their jets will be flying at the same time. They might as well keep some in storage or in reserve while slowly increasing their pilot ranks. A lot of their instructors might also be from the same countries they are buying jets from, which makes sense. I can't imagine any scenario where PAF pilots would be flying their new jets.

Well it has happened in the recent past with Mirage F-1 and Mirage 2000
