PAF achieves capability to use Motorway as its unconventional Air Base

.
PAF, achieved this capability as far back as 2005. Highmark conducted in that year, envisaged PAF flying 8000 sorties in a span of 14 days using all facilities and infrastructure including stretch of Motorways.
Albeit, the following JF-17 video is from the Turkish Air show, however, it shows a typical Motorway departure.

motorway would be used for emergency 'recovery' of damaged or low-on-fuel aircrafts. it wont be used for launching a/c for sorties as no infrastructure is available.

.
the motorway stretch on M2 is quite close to lahore. The stretch where there are dividers which have a space beneath them for forklifts is used for these ops.

this i think is not the one, the place which is used has dividers which have a space beneath them to be lifted by forklifts.
Yes,during HM2005/2010 those dividers were removed to give more space to the landing a/c. One more thing to be noted is that in HM2005 a/c didn't landed on the motorway they just did touch-and-go. However in HM2010, they landed and refueled for next flight. 2010 turned out to be a massive 'flying year' for PAF.

whenever we travel on the M 2 my father always notifies us when we are at the strip, it is near lahore i believe.

.
The dividers have obviously been removed and the tree tops were trimmed as witnessed in these images.

sir you misunderstood me, i was referring to a picture above of motorway in normal operation with cars, but as you can see in that pic, the dividers are not with holes in bottom. But the videos with aircraft , i do not dispute them

on a side note these are gorgeous and sexy pics!!!, would have loved an F 16 for a pose like this as well

Actually travelling on the M-2, people can recognise atleast 3 strips if they know what to look for.
1) a straight level stretch of atleast 4 kms
2)Re-enforced road surface
3) Darakhtoon ki saara waqt chanti hui huti hay.
One is near Lahore the other two are in between the first strip, second is near where Sargodha highway runs parallel to M2 and the 3rd is before entering the Pothowar plateau and Salt Range some klicks before the DG cement factory.
Islamabad to Peshawar M2 also has atleast two strips.
Given proper surfacing there are also many stretches on GT road which are suitable for use as highway strips. GT road though is one highway which cannot be closed.

.
does that make major difference?
you can land and take off from that road but what about logistkc supplys in case of destruction of air bases?

Capability to take off n land frm any part of the country if a base is destroyed...... M2 could also be used for supply n the checkposts can also be used as make shift command centers..... etc

An edge over ur opponent.......... a tactical advantage!
