Leave it to Norwegians to claim the one place on Earth that's colder then actual Norway.

Claiming land on the completely opposite side of the world is a European tradition. :p:

.
Theres a section of land on Antarctica which is unclaimed .pakistan should make a claim for it .if norway can claim land there there is no reason pakistan cannot .

Why we should claim it, please do tell us, and maintaining these outposts/land will take lots of resource and will super expensive, with current financial situation of the country is not possible

Because that area / continent is resource rich.

There is no reason why Pakistan would want to either. All the European claims were made to exploit the whaling industry on the continent at the time. The South American claims are geographic and historical.

Besides Pakistan has ratified the Antarctic Treaty which prohibits any further claims in the Antarctic after 1961.

Because that area / continent is resource rich.

"Mineral resources cannot currently be commercially explored or exploited under the 1991 Protocol on Environmental Protection to the Antarctic Treaty"

What it have, ice and snow???, if exploit it there is long way to go take it to Pakistan, not economical at all

Exploration for science goes beyond ones borders, all mature powers try to expand their knowledge by reaching out where they can. If you decide to comment, fifth largest country in the world, with a population of 232 million has value, plenty of value.

There is a lot of scientific, especially in weather and atmospheric studies happening in the Antarctic, if we are able to do so, and it seems we are so capable, then why not make the efforts. I remember reading about this back when we took the first steps, I was a proud teenager lol

Plus, for the time being, the Antarctica status is suspended as per international agreements, but we do not know the future, if things were to change, the countries that have a presence on the continent will very likely have the first say in what's decided.

Already, we are seeing the Artic opening up, and very few countries will have a say on the matter. Because they do not have a presence.

Ratified a treaty pull out of treaty as is meaninglessness and make the claim.
