Padma Bridge: Target to generate 1,600C a year in tolls

More like that's what your primitive logistics industry can afford, & what your infrastructure can support.

Little wonder why Indian manufacturers sell discontinued, low capacity models like Tata 1615 with outdated engines in Bangladesh. The market is tiny & not so sophisticated.

BTW it looks like nearly half of your fleet is more than 10 years old. Blame BRTA for releasing the data. :D

Err.. How many of those 2,500 buses you buy annually are made by Volvo & MB?

80,000+ buses are sold annually in India. That's like 4 times more per capita. :D

Look at their tractor count, 2500. INDIA buys over 750000 tractors a year.

An evening view of the Padma Bridge. I think this bridge is the best in Asia both in beauty and functionality although Indians led by @Protest_again will say silly things about it. @Protest_ again was telling that this bridge will collapse and BD will seek money from India for its proper maintenance.

Indians will only dream of building such a nice-looking bridge.

Do you wish it to be collapsed? Why do you keep putting your words in my mouth?

Aesthetics is nice when you can afford it. But the key should be utility. Lets see how well Bangos will be able to cope.

We all know Indians are waiting for their goods to run over the railway part of the bridge to and from Agartala/ Tripura.

You will get it but pay the uses fees sufficiently because we need money for its proper maintenance.

That is for something GOB to negotiate it with GOI. if not properly negotiated then people of Bangla will be shafted. Not my concern.

The fact that this bridge exists is a miracle given how rough and deep Padma is. The steep tolls are justified given the high cost of construction, ongoing maintenance and security and economic benefits. The tolls are a drop in the bucket for commercial vehicles given what businesses stand to again. As for personal commutes, just take public transport if you don't want flesh out 750 for driving across. Besides, the ferry is always available for haters.
One of the greatest miracle of engineering in the world. It's extremely hard to build a bridge over the downstream of Padma River

Of course, the technical requirements of this bridge are very high. Even China has built a super crane for it. The name is "Tian Yi"

Sany is responsible for some pump trucks and mixers.

Worli - Bandra sea link costed 16 billion INR.
This bridge costed 3.9 billion dollars or nearly 240 billion INR (I am taking a dollar to 60 INR because the construction spanned many years.).

Note that, I do not know why it costed what it costed. I do not know details of project. I guess being a rail-road bridge adds cost.

That means they have recoup 15 times more money. So if they are charging much more, it should make sense.
Costed?

More Hinglish lol

Costed is not entirely wrong. In fact, Canadians and other varieties of English-speaking countries outside North America use it.
For example, Americans would say that milk cost less yesterday. But Canadians might say, “milk costed less yesterday.”.

Weird someone claiming to be from and located in Canada does not know this much? LOL!

He is pretty dumb with his vocabulary. And he has the audacity to question.

Take a red salute from the people of Bangladesh brother!

Finished with efficient speed and under budget. Many firsts in the world of bridge building civil engineering sector.

Almost all Bangladeshis feel that Thanks should go to the CCP and China Railway MBEC. They worked very hard in the inclement weather, side by side with our engineers and passed on many advanced Chinese practices.

Only possible using Chinese technology....future projects will also go to Chinese G2G contracts.

More Hinglish from Hinduvta?

They want to spread their habits to the rest of the world.

SANY and XCMG equipment is used in almost all Mega Projects happening in Bangladesh right now. Very popular.

Tian Yi is probably by now the largest and most capable crane in the world, marine or land based.

Although Bangladesh has built some custom marine cranes before (one example was 1000 tons) Tian Yi is something else.

Tian Yi capacity is 3600 tons I think.

You want to have Sanghis pay for something? :-)

That is being very hopeful bhai...
