Most of the investment is to meet the energy demands and contruct the infrastructure, this is the first step, next step will be to capatalize on these investments that means establishing industries and making Gwadar a trade and industrial Hub.
Talks are already going on to add aditional projects into CPEC in addition to $46 billion so technically the $46 billion will increase as CPEC moves on

oh i thought you were referring to India's project . No doubt the CPEC has alot to offer and i agree with you it will exceed the 100 bill mark in near future.

I don't even know why these two projects are even being compared. Goal for each seems to be different. One is to give China a corridor to its western regions via Pakistan. Other wants to create an alternate route to Afghanistan.

In the future I can see both routes vying for access to CAR.

The numbers are not meaningless in any case .CPEC project is undoubtedly bigger project then India-Iran .Its lot more then just letting China use the gwader port ,it provides a lot of other energy and technological investments as well.
Reason behind why the numbers are compared is simply because India's project is directly or indirectly a response to CPEC. And that is being presented like this by your very own media and its talk shows not us.

Both of u and the other guy who quoted 42 Billion. I mean. Do u guys even know the economics of such an amount?
46 Billion dollar investment is expected if and when the trade corridor is opened. And Pakistan govt has put long old delayed demands such as building dams costs, some coal plants under CPEC. Most of the projects are still in planning phase (for years). And havent been started. Even Gwadar isnt operational yet.

I am not telling CPEC is going to be a failure. I wish it all the best. But the 46 or 100B part depends upon the companies willing to invest in trade zones. Chinese govt cant force its companies to invest in Pakistan, and until unless Pakistan has a FTA with India, most of the investment for Chinese companies wont hold good.
So lets decide for the "amount" after exactly it has happened.

As for Chabahar, we have invested little. And Indian bereaucracy works lazy.

Chinese subs never passed through Indian waters. I'd like a link that says otherwise..


BTW, don't give links of Chinese subs passing through Indian ocean, or through bay of Bengal, coz that would be international waters, not ‘Indian waters'.
Indian waters extend upto 12 nautical miles from Indian coast. EEZ of any nation is fair game for all kinds of International vessels.

Don't believe what the India media says. Nine out of ten times they don't know what they are talking about.

so in next few months, china will diffidently retaliate on that.
