A super power manufactures all of its military hardware by itself. Therefore India does not qualify because India cannot manufacture AWACs.

Britain was the biggest country in the world. During WW2 Britain suffered huge losses to Germany, Japan, Italy, so after WW2 Britain lost all overseas territories except Falkland islands.

No official of the EU can direct France's military or Germany's military to fight a country. The president of China can direct all of China's military to fight a country. The president of the US can direct all of the US's military to fight a country. That's why the EU is not a country whereas China and the US are countries. Only if a certain person of a political entitiy can direct all of that political entity's military to fight a country can that political entity be a country.

Canada and Britain share a head of state, but the head of state of Britain cannot make Canada fight a country, see for example Falklands war, so Canada and Britain are different countries.

There is no EU military and there never will be. The presidents of France and Germany are chief commanders of the French and German militaries and they don't direct any other military.
