The commander of the Shiraz Air Base said: "During the overhaul of the Ilyushin aircraft, we were able to repair all four aircraft engines and more than 200 electronic parts." Of course, without the help of the aircraft manufacturer's country.

Unfortunately the russians have a rather poor record,to put it mildly,when it came to supplying equipments/armaments to iran,the most recent example of this would be the s300 deal but there are numerous others as well sadly.

Russian equipments comes cheaper on the first purchase, they've very bad record of maintainance & spare parts.
