Peshawar: Over 126 Afghan Nationals were arrested by Law Enforcement Agencies (LEA) as a result of a riot in Hayatabad. The Afghan Nationals were gathered on the night of 18th August that marks Afghanistan’s Independence Day, and the celebration of independence turned violent when the huge gathering of Afghan nationals chanted anti-Pakistan slogans.
The situation got intense when Pakistani youth arrived at the scene to stop Afghan Nationals from raising anti Pakistan slogans causing public disorder and nuisance. According to police officials, when they arrived at the scene of riot and tried to open blocked roads, Afghan nationals resisted them with stone pelting.
The police said they had arrested around 20 Afghan rioters and the rest of the rioters were arrested from the University Town neighbourhood after identification. Authorities will further identify Afghan Nationals in Pakistan who are propagating against the state of Pakistan, said police officials.
Colonel Qasim Shah, who is known for his role as Captain Gulsher in a famed series Alpha Bravo Charlie, took to Twitter to report over 126 Afghan rioters have been deported this morning at 10 am. They have been blacklisted and handed over to Afghan authorities for chanting anti-Pakistan slogans and they won’t be allowed to enter Pakistan again.
