Over 1,300 Rohingyas flee India for Bangladesh fearing deportation, more on way

More than 1,300 Rohingyas have entered Bangladesh from India in past one and a half months while more are waiting to cross the border after India deported some members of the displaced ethnic minority group to their homeland Myanmar.

“Massive detentions are under way in different Indian states,” Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner Abul Kalam Azad told bdnews24.com on Friday.

“The level of the crackdown on the Rohingyas in the Muslim-dominated Jammu-Kashmir, Hyderabad and New Delhi is extreme. Fearing deportation to Myanmar, they are crossing the border into Bangladesh,” he added.

The over 1,300 Rohingyas who already came to Bangladesh from India recently were sheltered at the transit camp set up by the UN refugee agency UNHCR near Kutupalong Refugee Camp in Cox’s Bazar, according to Azad.

Some of the Rohingyas from India were staying with their relatives in the refugee camp, he said.

The government was looking for a suitable place to keep all the Rohingyas from India together, he added.

“Recently, a Rohingya family, who had taken refuge in India, was forced back into Myanmar. It created panic among other Rohingyas in India,” the commissioner said.

Many of them are crossing the border into Bangladesh through areas like Cumilla, Benapole, Satkhira and Kurhigram, he said.

“More Rohingyas scared of the crackdown are waiting to flee,” he added.

The foreign ministry has been informed about the issue, said Azad.

More than 700,000 Rohingyas have fled to Bangladesh since Aug 25, 2017 after the Myanmar army launched their offensive in the Rakhine State. They joined with 400,000 Rohingyas who had already been living in Bangladesh.

But, seeing what they do to the hapless and destitute people called Rohingya I can say India is full of Demons and Shaitans who are void of even normal human quality. Could it be that the GoI is following the discreet advises forwarded by @Nilgiri, a leader of the Shaitans?

They have engaged in much bad behaviour and crime. If they want to stay as refugees, they better be on best behaviour, otherwise people will naturally force them to leave back to most appropriate country for them (Bangladesh). I don't need to give advise to Indian govt at all, it is a functioning democracy (that has to respond to will/desire of its citizens or bear consequences), quite unlike your Haseena-theocracy BAL-desh...and its use of BCL on streets as needed (police and army only as last resorts for wrong thinking and wrong expression as BAL decides).

As you can see, this will be the precedent used for NRC exercise in the end too. Make life intolerable for the illegals (who have no claim to being refugee and are purely here for economic reasons) and they will naturally go back to BD. No need to get govts involved face to face at all....why you think we did pilkhana and then have BGB in our pocket (so much so that we have outposts of BSF on BD side of border to help with border security)?

This will all happen while we maintain overall good relations with BD people and its govt....they are too dependent on Indian culture, Indian goods import, Indian masala, Indian TV, Indian hospitals, Indian elite managers/professionals etc etc. Just look at your shameless shourov member here....screams against India so much...yet has Indian motorcycle he brags about lol.

This is your liberation tax, remember that, its paid back when we say its paid back....we decide, you don't. Don't get it in your head ever that this is a partnership of equals, that is your people's first big mistake and they should understand that...so there doesn't need to be friction and trouble.

Why the fuss is BD not a better place for them ? 1300 is a very small number and especially since you guys are a homogeneous country whose group they belong to so won't even have to worry about ethnic problems unlike India which is diverse- Rohingya are Bangladeshi anyway aren't they why not welcome them home .

They are just scared because if these 1300 get back in and join their fellow 1.1 million rohingya in BD. That means validation for deportation strategy for the many millions more of BD illegals in India right now. It is literally tip of the iceberg for them...and they are scared what the iceberg size actually is in the end....because they don't really have way to look past the surface of the water....just over rely on what we are scaring them as regards the size of it ...it doesnt do any good for their fragile ego and morale...not with Haseena so crushingly enforced on them again lol....the eternal "RAW" deal for them
