"Out of World's every 10 diamonds - 9 Processed in India"

.
The total amount of gems and jewellery exported from India in 2013-14 was worth $39 billion, of which $24 billion were diamond.

Incidentally 24 billion is entire exports of Pakistan.

You can not comprehend properly, or unable to do the math it seems:

India imported 163.11 million carats of rough diamonds worth $16.34 billion in 2013 and exported 36.46 million carats of polished diamonds valued at $20.23 billion.

They still have more than 100 million carats in hand.
And that's lot of money.

You have absolutely no idea how diamond industry works.

. .
Antwerp is business center, we are way to far in replacing Antwerp.
But yes India (Surat, Gujarat) is doing 90% of processing job, its more like offshore job work.
And Mumbai is trading center for diamonds, like how antwerp is.

Business in Antwerp is dominated by Jains. It is only a matter of time they shift to India.

.
All that work for only $4 billion profit.
4 billion is difference in cost of procuring raw material and selling price of final product. It does not include cost of running the whole operation so actual profit is way less than 4 billion.

On a side note, India used to be the only source of diamonds in the world as recently as 1896 but the British mined out all the diamonds during their short rule.
