What's new

Out of total revenue last fiscal year, Pakistan spent Rs85 out of 100 in debt servicing

.
Recent reports from TN provincial gov. admitted that TN is inundated with public debt. Revenue deficit was one of the highest in Indian states. :undecided:
Last 10 years it was ruled by AIADMK govt. they usually barrow money a lot. But TN is one of the most industrialized state in India and also has good number service/ IT business. It can easily pays off its debts. Still current government also provides more social schemes

Easy?! I doubt that it will be easy.

TN will have to grow double the rate of inflation in the country to sustain the social programs and finance its debt burden. A growth rate of 10%+ is not easy for any state under the current economic challenges.

When you have 50% population under multidimensional poverty. where you get the revenue. TN and Kerala invested more in social schemes earlier period. Now reaping the benefits to get more revenue from larger population

Ignore him. I frankly would object comparing Kerala with TN which have literally zero industry. A worst thing a govt can do is make them an refugee in their own state. Their students are studying in TN, Karnataka, working in Coimbatore, Bangalore, Chennai and exporting remaining labor force to Gulf.

While we do make fun of Tasmac, Kerala taught that model to TN and without their majestic and motherland loving foreign workforce Kerala would have been bad enough.

TN grew at 7% in 2020 in the middle of the pandemic. TN can grow irrespective of whichever political party in power. Any political party derives its leaders from the state.
Even if BJP which has failed in Bihar or UP ruled TN, it would still be a top state.

I agree that TN is better than most other states. But I do not agree that this is reason to believe 10% growth is easy for ANY state under the current economic circumstances. I do believe that TNs fiscal indicators are not enviable. This is based on the candid admission from TN gov.

I would like to thank great leader nawaz sharif for achieving the top place here.

Because the "low" paying jobs are left to migrants. This is going to be like that for years to come. Something happened to Mumbai when a lot of South Indians moved there initially working odd jobs.

No its better employment opportunity then their own place. No body migrate for low paid Jobs, also there is Manpower crunch for unskilled and semi skilled

Thats why I put low in quotes. A daily wage worker may earn Rs.800 in TN but only 250 in UP. Low paying jobs like construction works in my state are taken over by immigrants.
