Our law will apply: India tells Italy

Death penalty is very rare since 90s. Most probably if found guilty they will serve 7 years.

Actually that has changed now, murder usually does get a significant sentence, not 7 years. And life imprisonment has actually been changed to mean actual imprisonment for life - it used to mean a 14 year sentence earlier.

But death penalty, as you rightly said, is getting very rare. In fact, only one person has been hanged in India in the past 12 years.

I know but I am expecting some presidential pardon or spending jail term in italy.
The last russian/british guys who dropped arms got away within 5 years I suppose.

.
^ but they didnt killed noone. only droped weapons in eastern india. this is the case of murder.

.
these guys are fucked. they will probably rot in india jails for years and case will go on and on.. remember puralia case where russians were involved. the russian guy asked to be killed to relieve from misery. all this happend to them when they didnt even killed anyone but just droped weapons in india soil. when we didnt even spared our best friends of the time russians who are these italians. india is not pakistan

I am sure the italians will bribe their way out of this sticky situation.

There was that traitor cardinal also from Kerala who tried to support his masters from Rome. Can't remember that article (those who are curious, google it please). But at last, we stood our ground for something.

It is such traitors and ideological slaves like that cardinal who let us down from time to time. He should be exiled off to Vatican where he can clean his masters' shoes. An embarrassment to India and her identity.

See where his loyalty lies... in the Vatican.

You won't be saying that if you saw what that treacherous cardinal said in support of the two Italian rogues... :coffee:

Utter stupidity. So what did the cardinal say eh ?

He denied the he ever made any statements. The ONLY witness to it is some half assed Italian newspaper. NO ONE has any idea who said what......

.
not possible now when case is in open and whole india knows about it. if it wasnt in media then maybe they coulod have been saved by corrupt officials and netajis.

.
yes you are right but i am sure they are not gonna hanged in india .i hope they stay inside 20 years or more

Personally I'm unsure here. Obviously, they shouldn't get away with killing two people. At the same time, they believed they were shooting at pirates, and while they are guilty of being extremely callous and probably racist, they didn't intend to kill innocent people. I'm not sure what the Indian equivalent is, but in America they'd probably get ~5 years for voluntary manslaughter (in some states, this crime has its own category of imperfect self-defence). I think such a sentence would be enough to send a message that India values the lives of its people and will give the Italian guards enough time to introspect on what they've done without ruining their lives.

I should also note that I find it outrageous that Salman Khan got away with vehicular manslaughter.

Just WTF are you talking about??!!! These are Italian Naval personal who were stationed as protection on a civilian cargo vessel, they have NO DIPOLMATIC IMMUNITY, they ARE NOT DIPLOMATS. Where did you get that BS from? Unbelievable!

Thank you someone that finally agree with me, they are not diplomats they have no IMMUNITY, dude why are we Indians bickering amongst each other. That’s our problem with us Indians we can’t keep it simple can we.

Did some research, and they'll probably be found guilty of 'Culpable Homicide' but not 'Murder', likely as acts done with knowledge that they could kill. Under IPC section 304, this carries a maximum sentence of 10 years and/or fine.

Then we should push for the maximum possible sentence served in India only, SORT OF A BENCHMARK for things to come when we finally bring Sonia Gandhi and co the forgotten Italian thief’s who continues to loot this country. :hang2:

5 Year punishment is enough considering it was done in haste and with negligence. The case of not of murder but of mistake identity and careless. When we can't jail Salman Khan after so many years, we should have equal laws for foreigners too.

Does Indian law not apply on Narendar Modi?

Does Indian law not apply on Narendar Modi?

Of course it does, if he is proven guilty courts will punish him..but it seems Pakistani Law cannot touch Hafeez Sayed or anyother terrorist for that matter.
