Nation pays tribute to Sherafghan-1, Wing Commander Noman Akram Shaheed, OC No. 09 Griffins MRS.
He embraced shahadat on 11th March 2020 during the unfortunate F-16A Block-15 EMLU-III crash during Pakistan Day Aerobatics practice.

No. 14 Squadron was nicknamed "Shaheens" for some reason during the Soviet Afghan War while equipped with F-16s.
Today the squadron has been renamed to the original "Tail Choppers" call sign & Re-Equipped with the Jeffs.
