OSINT - Cambridge Analytica Helping PTM on Social Media?

I don't think banning facebook, twitter is unfeasible, these platforms are waste of time and lethal tools of propaganda. For media, I said "legislate strong libel laws" and ban those who don't want to honor those laws of land - It's not blanket ban but making media accountable where currently media can get away with every bullshit. So, it's not asking for totalitarian environment but responsible reporting.

Making thing viral, creating trends based on robot accounts and paid people isn't big thing, why waste time and resources to counter everything on internet. If sewage pipe is leaked, you don't just keep cleaning and using air-fresheners to counter filth and bad smell, you will first plug the leakage.
Communication tools such as Facebook, Twitter and Whatsapp have productive uses on the whole, particularly for research (academic/applied), management (various types), and commerce (entrepreneurship) - sectors which are critical for expansion of economic activity and efficiency.

Every country have its share of bad apples, and state agencies exist to sort them out. Recommended course of action is to search for and plug a source of leakage, not to remove entire pipes from the plumbing infrastructure.

This is the kind of mindset that has ruined pakistan in the last 70 years and will keep ruining it if it remains intact in state power corridors.
IGNORANCE and CORRUPTION = two of the greatest causes of why Pakistan is not doing well.

PTI made good use of various communication channels to establish its narrative and spreading awareness about various issues of Pakistan, and results are in front of you. Think.

I hate the mindset of kalay angraiz which is still rampant in pakistan even 70 years after 1947, many f**** institutions in pakistan are still mentally kalay angraiz and they are the ones who have ruined pakistan and will keep ruining it until we bury them in their belove pos britain.

. .
You are rather self-centered stupid.

I am just not a kala angraiz, so you wouldn't like my company, neither would I enjoy your company, so good bye. For me living in germany has done one good thing and that it it has exposed that pos called "britain" and its mental servants in pakistan and lovers of "british parliamentary demoncrazy".

Ignorance + Paranoia = Confusion + Lack of Productivity

I understand from personal, academic and professional experiences, the significance of tools in question.

They may have productive uses, but in Pakistan these platforms are waste of bandwidth. Retweeting, reposting, sharing funny videos, jokes, saving Islam or activities other than propaganda happening there. So, it has no productive value for Pakistan nor they are critical.

Every country have its share of bad apples, and state agencies exist to sort them out. Recommended course of action is to search for and plug a source of leakage, not to remove entire pipes from the plumbing infrastructure.

The bad apple are funded, assisted and supported by countries against whom Pakistan is too weak to take action, so best is to snatch matchboxes from hands of monkeys to stop them starting fire. Plugging whole (i.e. banning in Pakistan) is not removing pipeline, the pipeline can carryon, I want Pakistan insulated from sh!t flowing in it.

You are wasting your time on a kala angraiz, he worships anything related to english speaking "anglo-saxon sphere". For him if "gora sahabs" from britain or US say that facebook and twitter are "good" for "productivity" then they are good for him in every case no matter how much you expose the damaging side of these platforms for Pakistan.

Your perception is flawed unfortunately.

I shall give you some pointers now.

Lot of positive applications out there.

Every country is facing this problem, not just Pakistan.

As I have already pointed out in this thread, solution is to create Think Tank(s) to address counterproductive narrative-building efforts in relation to Pakistan. Even PDF can be one of these Think Tanks (refer to homework of Horus for instance).

In any society, bad apples can be identified, arrested, and/or taken to task. Why do you think Police, Rangers, NAB, and Courts exist? Shall we shut down these institutes as well? In the same vein, digital policing can be productive.

See above.

Height of stupidity and ignorance in your case unfortunately.

You are in Germany, right? What are you doing there in a WESTERN society? Come back to Pakistan, hypocrite.

Germany is not a "western society", germany is only "german society", stop using your beloved anglo-saxon terminologies. There is nothing common between the mindset of a german and that of a pos brit.

GERMANY is a Western Society and conform to Anglo-Saxon democratic ideals and freedoms of expression, mind you - perks you are enjoying there in full but preaching totalitarian nonsense for Pakistan (your hypocrisy meter reaching boiling point). You need to see a DOCTOR actually.

And you are probably an oldie who needs to see the grave soon. I know about Germany and German people and society 100 times more than you will ever know in your 100 lives living outside of Germany.

At age 17, the young Pakistani man has already established two pioneering restaurants in his hometown of Karachi. He became an entrepreneur at such a young age because he’s hungry for change—and his recipe for breaking down social barriers calls for clean, affordable tea restaurants that are also comfortable for women.

“Growing up, I saw a vacuum,” he says. “There were rows and rows of elite restaurants with exorbitant prices and the dhaba, a cheap tea spot but also famously unhygienic and not safe for women.”

A fairly-priced dining option open to all, he believed, would offer the restaurant experience to a wider range of social classes and turn his city into a “brighter, happier place.”

Hussain got a loan from his father to set up his first restaurant, but his lack of business knowledge was a continuing obstacle. That’s when IFC client Bank Alfalah stepped in, providing Hussain with training on business planning, accounting, human resources, marketing and sales, and other areas of management critical to the success of small businesses.

With that expertise within his reach, Hussain created a new version of the traditional South Asian roadside restaurant, the dhaba, which offers street food and tea. His restaurant, Chottu Chai Wala, serves traditional dhaba food in a clean environment that’s also more female-friendly than its counterparts. It was an instant hit.

The study concludes that YouTube does not contribute to entrepreneurship development in terms of creativity and innovation among users in state. The study therefore, suggests that social media in terms of Facebook, WhatsApp and
Instagram should be encouraged among users in the state when it aids entrepreneurship
development but should be discouraged when it is being used for fraudulent acts. The study also
suggested that YouTube should be discourage in the society since users of the social media only
concentrated on film without coping concern and use for entrepreneurship development in the state
in term of developing products

I don't have time to waste on search something which I already know because I live in Pakistan and know very well how and for what purposes social media is used mainly in Pakistan.
