After serving 10 months for shooting his girlfriend to death, paralympic runner Oscar Pistorius will be freed from prison and go into house arrest Friday.

Pistorius was sentenced to five years in prison in October 2014 after he was convicted of killing his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, on Valentine's Day two years ago.

He was convicted of culpable homicide -- killing her unintentionally but unlawfully -- after he said he mistook her for an intruder.

The fact is that Whites in S Africa (and Southern Africa generally) still get away with murder literally compared to their Black counterparts. Even when found guilty (like Oscar Pretorius) they get a slap on the wrist whereas Blacks get long sentences. And no it's not racism since even the Black judges have this habit of giving lenient sentences to Whites.
