Despite the total number of voters being 259,420, the boat symbol won 253,669 votes against the sheaf of paddy's 28,170 votes

In Khulna 1 constituency, 22,000 more votes than the total number of voters were received during the 11th general polls.

The discrepancy was noticed after Returning Officer Md Helal Hossain announced the results.

Initially, it was announced that from 107 centres under the constituency, the Awami League's boat symbol won a total of 253,669 votes, while BNP's sheaf of paddy symbol got 28,170 votes.

However, after Awami League was unofficially declared as the winner, the returning officer was informed that the total number of voters in the constituency was 259,420.

Later, at around 10pm, the results were re-announced. Awami League won with 172,059 votes and BNP clinched a total of 28,437 votes.

Come on.. It's only 10% more turnout.. 90% elections in that constituency are free and fair.. lolll

They went full monty, BAL just no care. Wonder if BNP gonna start mass agitations or something. @Skies
@Nilgiri, the reality is BNP did very little after boycotting 2014 election. They were not even at ground. The main villain is Jamat Shibir .
Khaleda zia ( with her son) was giving order and Jamat was acting as foot soldiers of tareq the thieve.
When in 2001 BNP came to power by making alliance with jamati islami, then jamati Islam completely devoured BNP, chhtradol ( BNP student wing ) was literally replaced by chhatra Shibir ( the student wing of Jamat) , and Khaleda and tareq zia was actually did all crimes with the back up of Jamat .
Still why do we blame BNP? Because it's leadership was actually responsible.
So since 2001 BNP ground caders were totally replaced by Jamat.
If BNP still had this morality of its founder late president Mr Ziaur Rahman , BNP would be elevated .
But khaleda zia single handily destroyed the old BNP.
During 1991 to 1996 regime BNP was completely secular type team and they had animosity with Jamat.
BNP is a party founded by several freedom fighters.

And this type BNP made another huge mistake and that is giving nomination to 25 jamati candidates.
And all was the work of tareq Rahman from London.

However a new BNP have a chance in future, although I am not sure after this election.
If your village is under fire, no masjid, Church or temple will be spared because they are holy places ! But everything will be burnt .
So BNP will not be able to move a muscle as it's ground level was literally destroyed by Jamat.
And after hanging Jamat leaders, AL successfuly tamed Jamat .
So now I believe we have to start a new chapter that will totally free from militant organisations like Jamat islami .
Then only we will find true democracy.

Star Report

Hopes of a fair election in the country faded as irregularities -- ballot stuffing, casting of fake votes and driving out opposition polling agents -- began to surface.

Our correspondents in 25 districts visited around 350 polling stations, and found various types of irregularities.

Furthermore, out of those stations, BNP polling agents were seen in only 100 centres.

In Chattogram, our correspondents visited 57 centres of 16 constituencies and found BNP polling agents in only seven of them. Various kinds of anomalies like ballot stuffing, voter intimidation and casting of fake votes were also seen in some places.

In Tangail, our correspondent went to seven polling stations in Tangail-5. BNP polling agents were present in all polling stations, but were inactive.

Visiting Enayetpur Government Primary School, a women's polling centre under Tangail-5, around 11:15am, the collapsible gate and the room of presiding officer was found to be locked from inside. After an on-duty policeman was informed of the matter, Presiding Officer Md Sharifuzzaman opened the door.

Entering the centre, this correspondent saw a man wearing a “boat” badge sitting inside the room, and ballot papers were seen strewn on the ground. The presiding office declined to comment on the matter.

In 11 polling stations of three constituencies, our Noakhali correspondent found no polling agents of BNP in any of them.

Mohammad Shahjahan, BNP candidate for Noakhali-4, at a press conference around 11:30am alleged that his 1,055 polling agents were forced out of 183 centres by 10:00am.

Some four to five girls were seen protesting in front of the Al-Faruk Academy centre in Noakhali town at noon. Asked, they alleged that their votes were cast before they reached their respective polling centres.

In Bhola, our correspondent visited 14 polling centres in two constituencies, and found long queues of voters in many of them. No polling agents of BNP were found. No violence was reported in the district.

In Pabna, our correspondent visited around 15 polling centres in three constituencies and found no BNP polling agents.

In most cases, whenever this correspondent entered, people started shouting “A journalist has come! A journalist has come!”

Our Thakurgoan correspondent went to 12 polling stations in Thakurgoan-1. He found no irregularities in 11 of those. However, some voters of a polling station claimed that they could not exercise their franchise as their votes had already been cast.

In Dinajpur, our correspondent visited 10 centres of three constituencies, and found anomalies -- including driving out BNP polling agents, casting of fake votes and voter intimidation -- in seven of them.

In Rajshahi, our correspondent visited seven polling stations of two constituencies and found instances of vote-rigging and ballot stuffing in two centres.

In Jashore, our correspondent went to 35 polling centres of Jashore-1, but found no BNP agent in any of them. Voter turnout was normal with high female voter participation.

In Barishal, our correspondent visited five polling stations in a constituency and hardly found any agents of the BNP candidate.

AL men were seen in large numbers in almost all the polling stations. Around 8:30am at Nobo Adorsho Government Primary School under Barisal-5 constituency, BCL men were seen disguised as voters and casting votes.

There were several incidents of attacks on voters and some people were seen casting votes multiple times.

In Faridpur, our correspondent visited 18 polling centres in four constituencies and found no BNP agents in 15 of those, while men wearing badges of “boat” symbol were seen inside the centres. Voter presence was very low, and law enforcers were seen sitting idle.

In Bandarban, our correspondent went to 10 centres in a constituency and found BNP agents in only two. Irregularities like stuffing ballot boxes in the presence of law enforcers, occupying polling centres and intimidating voters were seen in the other eight centres.

In Gazipur, our correspondent visited seven polling centres of three constituencies and found no BNP agents in four of them; AL men took control of the polling centres.

Our Manikganj, Sylhet and Moulvibazar correspondents visited 46 centres of different constituencies, and found BNP agents in 26 of them.

In Cumilla, our correspondent visited nine polling centres in Cumilla-5 and-6, and found no BNP polling agents.

At Shahebabda Degree College centre under Cumilla-5, the correspondent saw a thin presence of voters but its Presiding Officer Apu Sarwar confirmed that 2,000 voters out of 2,794 of the centre had voted by 11:00am.

At 12:33pm, Samiron Chowdhury, presiding officer of Rasulpur Bahumukhi High School centre, confirmed that 3,000 of 4,761 voters had already voted.

In Jhenidah, our correspondent went to 10 polling centres and found no polling agents of BNP.

At the centres in Trilochonpur Government Primary School and Sabdalpur Government Primary School of Kotchandpur, the correspondent found AL men forcing voters to cast votes in their full view.

Besides, our correspondents in Patuakhali, Jhalakahti, Bagerhat, Khulna, Lalmonirhat, Gaibandha and Nilphamari visited around 60 polling stations and found BNP agents in only around 20 centres.

So about 94% seats for winning alliance (Govt alliance aka BAL)…… and about 80% seats for BAL alone lollllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
@Nilgiri , @Imran Khan , @PakSword
I am just thinking that Imran Khan never knew what's actual rigging looked like.. He for no reason gave hard time to Nawaz on 2013 elections.. Nawaz should sue him for the blame of rigging to be honest..

Nawaz is an angel and Pakistan is a Paradise when compared to Hasina and Bangladesh.. lolll

Voters of Shazahanpur, Dhaka protested for not able to vote or after finding out their vote has already been casted

I believe you are an opposition worker.
Rather than posting these video on different forums, you guys should persuade your leadership to make an organized effort.. Ask the people who have witnessed rigging to come forward, organize protests in front of international press, election commission and parliament, take all the evidence to top court..

The whole process will take at least 2 years, but will give you some solace..

Lol you are wrong!!

For posting Bangladesh's economic and development news I was branded as Awami League workers. :p:

Another thing Government shut down internet and banned video at polling stations. As a result not enough proof is there for rigging. Only some scattered videos and allegations which Government and Election Commission is saying as some random allegation.

Hmmm but why your press is quiet?

In Pakistan it would have been a matter of extra money for the press.. They don't let these opportunities of earning go away so easily..

LOL "vote already cast"....honestly opposition should interview and gather these people into groups and start protests...they should not take this on the chin.
This is what I am saying. Looking at the videos, it seems opposition will find many witnesses.. and a forensic investigation, if ordered by SC, will reveal that the voter verification was based on some other persons' (polling officer) biometrics..

Most press are owned by Government supported people or they may face fine or ban!!

Jamuna TV filed cases against Awami League activists prior to election for attack on their journalists and other media and aired some anti government material as a result it was taken down on election day!!! Government also banned 54 other online news media prior to election.

A leading Bangladeshi news channel has been taken off the air, officials said Sunday as the country votes for a new government amid allegations of a media crackdown. The private Jamuna TV said the action was taken late Saturday. "Cable operators took Jamuna TV off air without giving us any explanation," Fahim Ahmed, the station's chief news editor, told AFP.

"We are still transmitting. But no one in Bangladesh can see our channel due to the blackout," he said.

The channel's output can still be seen online.

The broadcaster, which is owned by Jamuna Group -- one of Bangladesh's biggest conglomerates, which also runs a newspaper -- is known for its independent coverage.

Salma Islam, a member of the family that owns the group, stood in Sunday's election as an independent candidate against an influential ruling party businessman.

A top cable operator in Dhaka said Jamuna broadcasts stopped for technical rather than political reasons.

"We are not getting their signal," said S M Ali Chanchal, owner of cable operator UCS.

Jamuna rejected the explanation and insisted their signals were being broadcast as normal. Authorities have also ordered the country's mobile operators to shut down 3G and 4G services until midnight on Sunday "to prevent the spread of rumours" that could trigger unrest.

There have been mounting accusations that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government has been stifling dissent and curbing freedom of the press ahead of Sunday's election.

Internationally renowned photographer Shahidul Alam was detained for nearly four months after he was accused of making false and provocative statements against Hasina on Facebook.

Two pro-opposition editors have been detained for months over what they say are trumped-up charges while the editors of two influential dailies were accused of sedition and scores of other defamation cases.

In recent months Hasina's government has also strengthened a digital security law, which rights groups and journalists have said makes investigative journalism almost impossible.

That's really sad.. why is international media quiet?

The way this @nahtanbob comes to defend Hasina, wish if he had the same feelings for Bangla migrants living in India. Why don't you start Akhand Bharat from Bangladesh and legalize Bangalis are'nt we one people?:rofl::rofl:

I have no comments on the fairness of the bangladesh elections. i see the ruling party of bangladesh do a good job on their economy compared to the rulers of India and Pakistan. Given the level of poverty in bangladesh they need economic growth and stability. this election might give them just that.

What I see is a bunch of Pakistanis whining about fairness of elections in bangladesh. They ignore all the overt and covert meddling in democracy by their own military establishment
