Opinion: Which is the most modern city of South Asia?

.
All the cities where the hilsa swims.

Rest is blasphemy !!

In case you didn't know, Hilsa swims in south India too.

I live in South Bombay and it is really on par with most first world cities in terms of entertainment, cosmopolitanism, facilities, gardens, educational institutions, gymkhanas, night clubs, the business districts of Nariman Point and BKC - the whole nine yards. But once I out of the island city and into the suburbs, it is a complete disaster.

Sometimes, I just prefer to drive down to Pune for a change of pace. Within India, I found Chandigarh very clean and well organized. Gurgaon has some nice buildings but it seems. I've only heard good things about Islamabad from Pakistani friends - from pictures, it looks very well maintained. I have mixed feelings about Delhi - it has overall better infrastructure than Bombay but you would never see a sign "No guns allowed in pub" in Bombay.

Where in south Bombay do you live ?

My pick would be hyderabad - Metropolitian with great weather, good public transport, good job oppurtunities and good educational Institutions. Lol we have both IIT and ISB. Night life is just picking up and probably the only metropolitan where a middle class person can dream of buying a house rather an forcing himself to live in a oversized cubicles called apartments. But then property rates are sku ricketing of late.

In the city ranking across the globe, Hyderabad ranks 142 and shares its spot with Pune. Last year, Pune was ranked at 151 and Hyderabad at 144, indicating that both cities have improved their quality of living.

With its pleasant weather and relatively low crime rate, Hyderabad held on to its rank, but had to share its spot with Pune this year. Pune has been rising in the ranks over the past two years with its consistent improvement in quality of living.

According to Times of India, the report stated,

While Hyderabad and Pune have jumped in rankings this year, they have done so relative to other cities, while showing negligible change on factors evaluated.

Among all the Indian cities, New Delhi was ranked the lowest at 162, for the third time in a row, primarily because of the challenges it faces with respect to air quality and traffic.

Other Indian cities like Bengaluru ranked at 149, Chennai at 151, Mumbai at 144, and Kolkata at 160. As compared to rank 177 last year, Bengaluru improved this year and is no longer the lowest ranked among all Indian cities.

Vienna from Austria is at the top ranking among all cities across the world, and overall, European cities continue to remain at the top.

According to The News Minute, Mercer told during the release of report,

Despite economic volatility in Europe due to uncertainty around Brexit as well as increased political volatility in the region overall, many of its cities still offer the world’s highest quality of living and continue to remain attractive destinations.

Zurich is at the second rank, followed by Auckland in New Zealand, and Munich in Germany. With its fifth ranking, Canada’s Vancouver is the highest-ranking city across the entire North America.

On my recent visit to Hyderabad I was pleasantly surprised to see the level of development. I lived with a family in Lanco city and worked in Hitech which I found similar to Gurgaon. I loved the food there, wherever I went, I was not disappointed with the food. In terms of food, Hyderabad has become my second favourite city after Indore.

Lahore is the spiritual love center.

The kind of love above wine and slums of former colonies

Spiritual love centre? That is just absurd. Call your self as the Mecca of South Asia then. Paris of south Asia should go to the city that actually is liberal unlike Lahore. In that aspect I would say even Karachi is better than Lahore :D
