Operation Tirah Valley | News & Updates

They are having fun.... is this what you believe.

It is the shameless judiciary and its so called restoration by Asif f Zardari, which is responsible of this blood shed.

Now we have interim govt. which is receiving awards of traitor ship in Indian and Bangladesh.

what did the judiciary do?
its the armies own fault that this happened, they should've known better that these bastards are still in pakistan occupying pakistani land, they should dealt with them in the beginning not wait till they get settled in and then go after them, thats what it seems like now. they do an offensive then nothing for year and when the insurgents regroup and get weapons and everything then they do another short operation. it must be all politics for the generals but innocent pakistani lives are being lost because the army is becoming more unwilling to deal with these guys, i cant believe people are even trying to negotiate with these evil sons of hos.

Special service soldiers are suppose to inflict heavy damage and come back home alive-
Seems like they are falling like regular soldiers- shows the intensity of fighting and very bad planning-

SSG has shown extremely bad track record through out the conflict-
Even in Lal Masjid the SSG casualties should hv been minimal-

RIP soldiers- fcuk the terrorists-

The men we are fighting are no less in training & stamina when compared to special forces guys. You have no idea how tough & good they are at what they do. Rather i would say these militants are more tough & better fighting material when compared to any special forces around the world.

Even in lal masjid, they went against the best which they could offer.

I heard that in the initial casualties, along with the 2 Shaheed officers, a Major from 8 Punjab and a Captain and Major from 2 Commando also got injured.

Our soldiers are fighting for our security and to ensure a better future for our children... yet we have become nonchalant towards death. When no one cares about a civilian being brutally killed by the Taliban (lets say Shahbaz 'Bhatti) then how will we care for our soldiers. There shiould be some sort of facility for soldiers wounded in war and one day in the year should be dedicated to rewarding our soldiers. This day should be more than defence day.

The COAS has done some work in this regard ... Yadgar e Shuhada and Yaum e Shuhada ... memorials in cantonments and a lot of other stuff so within the army there is some work done now there needs to be some media campaign ... publicity of such days and publicity of the sacrifices given by the whole nation, not to portray ourselves as MAZIOOM but to give out a sense of belonging and of unity.

May Allah help our Jawanns to succeed in this blood and fire......

Let's leave this discussion...this isn't our prerogative.

So wearing patloon is haram?

Anyways...the pic of the Shaheed Captain from 3 Commando...

May he rest in peace.

all male adult children of these MPAs MNAs N and Z etc should be conscripted and sent for hard service in these areas for 3 years...that will put some sense in these bozos....

Pakistan: Fierce Fight in Valley

By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Published: April 8, 2013

Four days of fierce fighting in northwestern Pakistan left 30 soldiers and nearly 100 militants dead as the army tried to wrest control of a remote, mountainous valley from the Taliban and their allies, military officials said Monday. The army launched its offensive in the Tirah Valley on Friday after weeks of fighting between rival militant groups forced tens of thousands of civilians to flee the area. The valley is in Khyber, part of the semiautonomous tribal region bordering Afghanistan, the main sanctuary for the Taliban in the country.

Just spoken to, Major Muhammad Shafiq Malik at the ISPR.

Seems either DAWN has cooked up or is confusing the figure with some other operation elsewhere, for the Major said that the ISPR is not aware of any such operation or casualties else it would have given out a press release. !!

When i spoke to Major Shafiq at the ISPR earlier, he wasn't even aware of the news and asked me which paper was reporting it. !!

@Windjammer, So why don't you contact that Saint Major of ISPR again or you still believe it's all cooked up stories?

If you mean these Yes.

To those who are conflicted about how SSG received this heavy damage ,

First of all they are Humans ( and this is not a Hollywood Movie where you send 5 men & they clear out whole area killing 100's of terrorists without getting hit ) , 2nd , SSG were never meant to be used as a First line of offense , they are covert operatives , they Strike at Night or from an angle no visible , and they are Damnn good at that job .

The reason SSG were used here ( from what i heard ) was due to Extra ordinary Difficult terrain , and dug outs of Militants , regular infantry would have be slaughtered on these slopes . SSG were a distraction(most of them knew they may not return alive) , and they did their Job , only due to this factor the casualty rate of regular infantry was low around 17 ( from last i heard) . and the SSG causalities are still not confirmed but they are between 3-7 with one confirmed captain.

Tirah is a very strategic Spot as it overlooks Tora bora ( The main Smuggling & Transport route from Afghanistan to Pakistan ) , it was under Ansar-ul-Aslam First ( Pro Pakistan Group) , but they were pushed back by TTP & its allies .

There were around 500 militants up there with half of them dead or injured , the operation will soon be over.

I heard that in the initial casualties, along with the 2 Shaheed officers, a Major from 8 Punjab and a Captain and Major from 2 Commando also got injured.

Martyrs are Major Mustafa Sabir (8 PR) and Captain Waseem (3CDO). Wounded officers include Major Zamin (8PR), Major Hafeez (3CDO) and Captain Jabran (3CDO).

PESHAWAR, Pakistan - Four days of fierce fighting in northwestern Pakistan left 30 soldiers and nearly 100 militants dead as the army attempted to wrestle control of a remote, mountainous valley from the Taliban and their allies, military officials said Monday.
The army launched its offensive in the Tirah Valley on Friday after weeks of fighting between rival militant groups forced tens of thousands of civilians to flee the area. The valley is located in Khyber, part of the semiautonomous tribal region bordering Afghanistan, the main sanctuary for the Taliban in the country.

The army has launched scores of operations against the Pakistani Taleban in the tribal region in recent years, but certain areas like Tirah have remained outside their control. The Taliban have remained a serious threat and continue to launch attacks throughout the northwest and other parts of the country with frightening regularity.

The Pakistani Taleban have been waging a bloody insurgency against the government because of its alliance with the U.S. in fighting Islamic militants, and to establish Islamic law in the country. The group is allied with the Afghan Taliban but has focused its attacks inside Pakistan instead of Afghanistan.

The fighting in Tirah over the past four days has killed 30 soldiers and 97 militants, military officials said, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media. The air force has also conducted heavy bombing during the offensive, they said.
