All's hunky dory.. and sweet honey here..
but.. really now.. Peace with India is a wonderful prospect..and truly the only way forward..
But I do believe Pakistan can survive without it..
What is needed though.. is a lot more engagement by the Indian side..
They have to get past the Islamists..the obsessive people.. then reach out to the people of Pakistan.

and I cant go preach it to him..
It has to come on the private TV channels.. showing both the Indian government..and Indian people taking a peace initiative.. and you will see Shabbir respond double.. till then though..making contradictory statements .. with the Indian PM and army chief rarely on the same page..

I like your thinking and even give you that It must be India who must act as the bigger of the two and make the first gesture. But tell me how specifically ? when India made economic gesture of favored nation trading status to Pakistan it said no back. When India asked that it would restart peace process if the list of terrorist, everyone of those are also called such and banned by either US or UN to be extradited to India , pak said no. so tell me how do we clap with one hand?

I have always advocated for India to be first to make the gesture and that pak prosperity is in India's national and security interest. But tell us how and - and don't start with absolutist statements about Kashmir. that is not happening... you know it , I know it , we all know it. But does that become the Achilles heel for any progress is the question?

Forget peace, if they leave us alone and don't engage in making another 26/11 like attack ,it'll be a big deal.

Indian army is a professional soldier and military bureaucrat who works under the consent of the PM via the president of India.

When his tenure ends the he makes honorable exit from south block and goes home without looking back.

What he say on military matters is given great importance , but he play no in policy making.Final call belong with the civilian heads either in its defense ministry or PMO.

Back to topic, India pakistan peace is nice to have but not necessary for survival of two nations.
Our internal problems(or pakistan's) is way much bigger thing to worry about than relation between us.
But yes, if you want rapid prosperity to south east asia, peace will help to some extent.
