Only Indian troops withdrawing, Chinese troops continue to patrol area

I thought you had some idea about this stand off...... but.. .

You know Nair, I'm actually really happy that the stand-off has ended (I think China has more important things to worry about), and I never had any intention of starting a thread today.

But when I logged on today, what did I see?

Threads from @Kinetic saying that "China surrendered to Indian Army", and threads from @Resident Evil saying that "China bends the knee to India".

History repeats itself: China surrenders to Indian army wishes and backs off

China bends the knee, accepts Indian demand of No road construction in Doklam

Now that hardly seems like a fair reading of what happened, right? So I decided to start a thread only about what was said in the official statements of China and India. I only wanted to achieve a semblance of balance here.

.
Also the way Indian troops withdrew clearly suggests that it was Indians who were desperate to de-escalate the situation rather than the Chinese. They rightly realized the mess they were falling in.

Cheerleaders in full flow cant accept their protectors accepting a status quo agreement

Am sure this decision gave many Pakistanis heart attack seeing the comments here....

.
@Chinese-Dragon Is it true that china won't be working on road now? At least this is what Indians are saying in threads. Can you please post some official statement on agreement if there is any agreement to begin with?

In the official statements from both China and India, neither side mentioned anything about a road.

Which means India is only depending on China's "good will" to stop building the road. Which, as we've seen with CPEC and the South China Sea, didn't turn out so well for them before.

This is strange since road construction was the main thing that initiated the stand off. China should have made it clear otherwise other party can say anything about it.

I totally agree.... This is what happens when you have a matured adversary.... Both knows the importance of peace and cost of the war.....

I have seen those threads and my post there also is there for you to see....I agree those are troll threads.... probably to counter the other troll threads on same topic which probably you may have overlooked.. ..

Hmm in have a different take on it.... but I have no complaints....

Why should it give a heart attack to Pakistanis ? Did we asked Indian troops to enter into the area of concerned at first place ? Heck 99.99% of the Pakistanis didn't knew a jack about Doklam until Indians all over the place started to make noise about it.

Trolling aside, India has done the right thing, it knew that challenging the Dragon was going to be disastrous.

So it withdrew, rather than test the Dragons rage.

The great PLA succeeds :china:
And the Indians live another day.

go back to status quo.
Sir, the status quo was that China was building the road so it will continue doing so but your compatriots are spinning it.
Yes, so what it means? this is the face saving formula, for both sides
I agree to some extent and I have been stressing that point that India should de-escalate things and walk out of Dokhlam and that's what eventually has happened. But Indians are claiming it as a victory. All you did was to safe your ***... and nothing wrong in it as difficult decision needs to be taken in the national interest. But please don't spin it.

China said India had pulled its troops
Yes you are correct. It's clear that Indian's have pulled back. Essentially we are at status quo ante. Chinese continue to patrol on their side. Extract below from Washington Times which will be pro New Delhi writes -

* "troops expeditiously disengaging". Diplomatic talk for "Indians got the shitz and running back"
* "does not know of any concessions". Read below please.
* "Chinese continue to patrol". This is self evident.
* "exercise it's sovereign rights". Bingo. This tells us China has not given up on road construction. Building roads or using land or doing what with it is fundamental exercise of "sovereign rights". If you are capped or restricted then you are no more "sovereign". Please check legal and english meaning of that word. Sovereignty implies "free from restrictions".
