Our problem here, the problem of very many states in today's world, where the US is simply too powerful to be flouted, is that people would like to hate them, and do, largely due to policies and practices that are not exactly in line with those who hate the American position if it opposes their own. The result is a fractal relationship; every aspect of a bitter relationship is reproduced on a smaller scale, and so on to infinity.

First of all forget everything that say it's freedom of speech & internet is .... bla bla etc
All the counties have think tanks to formulate the strategy especially the forgin policy. Now sitting in your own county you don't get the wind of the though process that is in the population of hostile county. Yes there are spy network but it don't give you a mind set opinion. Forums like this is ideal for it. You can find hawkish members on every such forum who came to nuke your county every now and then but beside that if one really care can find and analyse the real opinion feed. All those who do it they only read never comment and might not necessarily be a member of such sites. But their opinion count on policy level.
Sadly PDF used to be better site and a lot of such members where here. Now it's just a troll fist. Few people are still here but they don't comment only read
