Japanese carmaker Nissan Motor India has launched its iconic model GT-R in India, priced at Rs 1.99 crore (ex-showroom Delhi). In its latest incarnation, the model comes with Nissan's latest design language and is replete with cutting-edge technology.

"The GT-R is a very special car for Nissan and we are delighted to add it to our Indian line-up for the first time in its history," Nissan India Operations President Guillaume Sicard said. GT-R comes with a 3.8-liter V6 24-valve twin-turbocharged engine with each unit handcrafted by the company's own Takumi technicians.

GT-R is produced at the Nissan's plant in Tochigi, Japan, and will be brought to India as a CBU (Completely Built-up Unit). It will be sold exclusively through the Nissan dealership in Noida. This dealership will also house India's first Nissan High Performance Centre (NHPC), which will be solely responsible for the service of the car.
Nissan started taking orders for the GT-R in India in September this year and deliveries to customers will begin soon.

. . . .
Such products are brought into the Indian market to raise the profile of the brand. Of course, there will be a handful of rich enthusiasts who may shell out that kind of money. But I doubt the annual sale will even hit double digits. Besides, all models assembled or produced in India have to increase the Ground Clearance of the vehicle because of our roads being sub-standard. CBUs are imported and the underbody tends to scrape the roads

I am talking about those rich kids flaunting these cars bought through black money. How would they be able to purchase now? And people with white money are hardly rich enough to afford these cars.

Now you are kidding right!!! Even if these kids did have money, would our roads support it ?? lol

. . .
Rich kids in Pakistan do the same ...

Islamabad

Those ones are most prolly imported to Pakistan. Nissan is planning to bring GTR to India and sell.

GTR has a very low ground clearance so I'm not sure if GTR is going to find many customers in INDIA.
Heard GTR takes a lot out of its brakes.

Hi
This vehicle is has been out in the west since 2007 ...nearly 10 years. Let's stick to reality shall we?

If I am not mistaken Porsche opened their first show room in Islamabad, Pakistan back in 1989. I was there and I remember driving past their logo being erected. @Levina

1989!!!
A person is not judged by what he did in his past but by what he does in his present.
I hope you got the drift of it.

I know for sure that Pakistan's automobile industry is declining day by day. One of my Pakistani friend told me that companies release pretty trimmed off version of European and Japanese cars in Pakistan e.g. Toyota Corolla XLi .
Not so long back this is what used to happen in india too. But now it has changed.

Should we compare Indian automobile industry with that of Pakistan's?
Ready?
