Once a symbol of power, farming now an economic drag in China

I have always seen such BS of West trying to undermine China. Getting rid of agriculture can harm China more than anything else. Other than countries like USA, Brazil, Canada, Australia, farming is a big economic drag to white man developed countries including Europe.

Farming is so unprofitable that Europeans need to subsidize their farmers and farm subsidy is perpetually among the greatest budget allocation in EU. Agriculture subsidy is a source big complaints against EU from USA to developed countries but why Europe is not closing down their farms.

Similarly, Japan, Korea, Taiwan are holding on to agriculture and everyone know Japanese farmers are surviving due to rampant protectionism.

Why not doing something more productive?

The reason is to become a strong country, food security is a BIG MUST. A country will be hijack by others if you are not self-sufficient in your food production.

The worrying trend is PRC leaders may buy into white man "market capitalism" theory that even white man themselves (european) dont believe, and start neglecting their own agriculture.

PRC government has already start to shift from 100% food sufficiency and if the trend persist, it will be worrying.

Ccp will eat their money and skyscrapers if they need to. ccp are already bought into white men's lies. Vietnamese don't buy into that.

i'll just say it, the reason food safety is a problem in under developed countries like China and Vietnam is because of the way meat and produce is produced.

It's done by individuals instead of large corporations. Large corporations guarantees the food and health of the animal while small producers can't as does the large armers that have standards.

This takes a long time, China is buying American food and other farming related companies to standardize production.

As to water, some of it is contaminated by the feces of the animals.

Tell me, how does Vietnam not have this problem, when Vietnam farmers like Chinese ones don't have access to high tech disposal facilities and don't have the technology or capital for a large scale production.

By being united? You are far less developed than China by every index, you got far bigger problems my friend, it's just you can in no shape or form challenge Pax Americana, so nobody cares.

I never mentioned food safety of china like other Vietnamese posters. It's not about the quality or american standard but about not cheating . When i order beef, i want beef, not unknown meat and cancer causing chemical combined to make fake beef. that is my concern. it's just not small corporations but big corporations also. Remember the kfc meat supplier in shanghai ?

China should improve the supply of clean food and water.

Clean water in china is safer than Vietnam bro. it's their fake food that is more problematic.

Really did not expect domestic reforms in agriculture caused worldwide attention.Reform is the inevitable result of the modernization of agriculture.In fact China has many problems to be improved.These problems arise in the process of progress.In fact, the development of every country have this or that problem.In fact, these are are going to improve things in the future.
