On the issue of Banning

Both Pakistanis and Indians (and Chinese) get banned, so stop whining. Someone said that we actually have more Indian members than Pakistanis so, of course, you will see more banned Indians.

This being a Pakistani forum, it will tend to attract mostly two kinds of Indians. The nice ones who want to understand Pakistan, and the jingoistic trolls who want to vent their frustrations by ranting and chest-thumping online. I think we all know in which category certain posters belong... ;)

Hey,

I am new to this site. As i mentioned in one of my previous posts, I was absolutely baffled to read so many derogative comments made by some of our indian 'friends' in almost every thread i read! For a second i thought i had come across an indian forum!

For this reason alone, i feel it should be common sense why more indians are probably being banned than others. Infact, from reading some of the posts, i am surprised why more of you guys have not been banned.

As the lovely JANA pointed out, you guys should be grateful that you are allowed to carry out your propaganda against Pakistan, even in a pakistani forum!

As for explanations for being banned...well, i thought the whole reasons why we are made to agree to the 'terms and conditions' before registering is so that we should not be surprised if we get banned for violiting any of these terms?? isnt that enough of an explanation to anyone?!?

I'm also perplexed as to why we're even discussing this 'issue'. I thought this supposed to be a defence forum? Starting a post and indirectly questioning the integrety of the moderators (and getting away with it), IMO should be more than enough proof that the moderators are far from biased towards anyone!

Regards,

Zaf

:pakistan::cheers::china:

p.s. No offence was intended towards anyone as everything i have typed was merely based on my observations on here, so far!

I am new to this forum. i do not side with the thread starter's view. An insult is an insult, a murder is a murder and the perpetrator deserves the penalty irrespective of seniority.

This will also help to further elucidate the rules and boundaries to those like me who would like to push the envelope from time to time, in a civil manner of course,

do you ever doc!!!

Suck it up Vsdoc.

Indians are in no short supply here, infact they outnumber the Pakistanis here it appears. If you get banned, a dozen more will sign up. No problemo amigo.

Well you are 100% correct that Indian members are not in short supply, one gets banned 12 more will come, but on this forum its not about quantity, its about quality. Which the Indian members do lack here in a huge way compared to their numbers, as most of them come with an insulting behavior & for trolling.

If vsdoc kind of Indian members get banned and instead of him we get 12 members of your caliber, it will not be the same nor can the 12 of you fill the gap left by the banning of vsdoc as the caliber of his intellectuality would be missing in the 12 of you.

Sometimes in war also, quality wise good armed forces defeat quantity wise superior forces. :pakistan:

Anyway, since the time i have joined the forum, i also had been thinking that there should be a thread in which moderators should post the details of the member banned, for how long banned & the reason. the source who may have reported the post should not be advertised, but a one line reason or the thread & post# for getting banned should be given, so that other members can see the reason for getting banned. It will give them an idea what not to say & how not to behave themselves & the reason for good members getting banned would be known.

This thread would be just for read purpose, no counter argument or discussion with moderator would be required, it should be just for information purpose. Even the moderator involved should not be advertised too. Just the info related to the banning member.
A notice board kind of thing.

Hope the senior members give it a thought & i do believe this issue must have been taken up before too & if not implemented valid reasons would also be there.

But i do have seen that the justice system over here is pretty balanced for everyone (Chief Justice Ifthikhar Sb should be given some help by the moderators over here ;). I haven't seen anyone get banned for no offense or for some minor offense. Many members are still posting even after having said some very ridiculous & pathetic posts which required being banned in my view.

Banning someone does not help in my opinion untill and unless its a pure troll.

You ban someone he uses a simple trick to change mac and maybe a proxy and back on the forum within 5 min.

So just have some tolerance and you will be just fine.

Excellent Mod's on this forum.

Well this is a civilized forum where except for trolling, certain other ethical & moral views are also to be seen & those who roam within the boundaries of these ethical & moral views giving an example of being decent civilized human beings can be left to utilize this forum, those who don't should get banned.

As for changing their IP add or proxy settings, yeah they can change it and come back in, but by doing this their attitude won't get changed, so once again they will get their arses banned the moment they show their true colors. But if they come back with a changed attitude, they are welcome.

You're absolutely wrong when you say that only "Indians" get banned on the forum.

The forum policy is simple: If anyone breaks the forum rules, he will be warned. If his intentions are to troll from his very first post, he will be banned.

I don't want to take names here, but there are Indian members here who've reached to the 1000 post mark in just a month after getting registered. Do you know what that is? A fine example of trolling. "Some" of them, are still around and we have lifted their bans because we always give a second chance to a member who's contributed here to some degree.

Moreover, until just recently, some of the "Senior" Indian members were referring to the Chinese members here with racial slurs. I had to specifically make an announcement thread where I mentioned it clearly that the next person to use this slur would be banned immediately;

http://www.defence.pk/forums/forum-information/36630-addressing-chinese-members.html

Most of the people ignored this warning and therefore, they ended up getting banned.

As far as the Pakistani members are concerned, Patriot over here, is the first one to report ANY Pakistani or Indian who's trolling around or offending people. In only the past one month, Patriot has reported over 10 Pakistani's who were banned. Point is, you too have the report button. Use it regularly. But I can assure you, there are a LOT of Pakistani members who are currently under a ban. A lot of good ones are among that group as well but they've all broken the forum rules in one way or the other and that's why they're not active any more. I can start posting their names but that wouldn't be necessary.

In the end, I'd have to agree with Developereo that;

This being a Pakistani forum, it will tend to attract mostly two kinds of Indians. The nice ones who want to understand Pakistan, and the jingoistic trolls who want to vent their frustrations by ranting and chest-thumping online. I think we all know in which category certain posters belong...

If you were in our position, you'd know how true this is. The Indians outnumber the Pakistani's, and most of them simply come here to troll. In fact, a very respected and senior member here even confessed to this some time back that his true intentions were to act like a jingoistic warrior before he started to change his intentions towards the forum and Pakistan.

This forum is the best forum out there and gives equal and unbiased treatment to everyone. But if you're going to generalize the banning simply because you've seen a lot of Indians banned here, then I must inform you that you're wrong. How is it our fault if most of the trolls here come from a certain background? Think of it this way,

Not ALL the Indians are offensive trolls, but most of the offensive trolls are Indians.

Thanks

There are too many members here to keep track of, except the ones that stand out, so often times one mod may ban a member, and the others may have no clue.

I often have members send a PM asking about why a particular member was banned, banned permanently etc. Sometimes I know off the bat, and I'll respond, and other times I have to check with others to see what happened.

So if you do think that a good poster was banned and wanted to know why, a private PM is, in my case at least, the best way to go.
