Olive farming gets boost with arrival of 100,000 plants from Spain

.
Either from Tunisia or Spain, Italy only purchase the good quality of olive & then export it with higher price. Italian have a ability to blend oil from other places and convert them into high quality and prize, this particular skill makes Italy the best producer importer & exporter. The Italian Tuscan olive oil of choice is extra virgin & the highest possible quality olive oil, with free fatty acid content below 0.3%, it tend to be yellow, light and fluid.

Ayvalik Turkish olive oil is also testy & healthy & comparable to Italian Tuscan olive oil.

Well the key is to evaluate the chemical composition of commercial olive oil.
The level of oleic acid, linoleic acid content, The tocopherol and polyphenol content, phenolic compound of pinoresinol.

Pakistan needs to learn alot in this field, the finish product of olive oil with high standard quality is not a cup of tea.

Although it's an excellent step by Govt but i am afraid Pakistan will end up to export raw material as always rather then finished product.

Spain is among the least interesting Olive oil (with the exception of Grenada region) let's say we take it when we didn't have enough to finish our bottle stock.
As for Italy Olive Oil, we in TN got the same quotas, that's why Italy preferred choice is TN oil.
And the share is even bigger nowadays because of previous contamination in Italy. That's also why TN production almost double in those past 8ish years.

TN is still exporting her Oil mostly un-bottled or even some raw, Mostly because of EU regulations and the market preservation with IT/SPA/GREE. With EU being the most/ almost unique Olive oil consumer market in the world...
and TN being the Only non-EU oil getting the ''primordial market''. That's why every other producer will , have to start to export raw/semi-pressed for a very long time, when it comes to the EU market.

BUT what we are seeing in the past decade is a shift and increase in demands in other markets, like Asia and N-America... so for every new comers it's the market to adapt to... TN already is among Top Japan imported product already with a forecast of 5% market in the coming years.

Last word about Italy... They aren't as they used to be... that's why they are shifting from Producer to re-bottling export... It's a shame... because of that, they will mostly lose, in the long run, their ability to produce quality oil... But what can you do... profit everywhere at any cost will kill you little by little...

If you have enough place in your garden, do plant one or two olive trees (depending upon space). Very good quality olive plants (spanish and italian) are often available from NARC (National Agricultural Research Council), their H.O is in Isb opposite to NIH, although entering their premises in your car would feel like entering a nuclear installation the way they will interrogate you and search your car, typical stupid bureaucratic sh*t, although some of the researchers are very decent and they have a good variety/quality of plants.

Depending on your location (mine is Rwp-Isb) freshly picked olives are available for eating (green) during sep-nov the source as per the super store is KPK. Last report I saw said there are over 200,000 wild olive plants in KPK all they needed was grafting and I think a lot of them are on railway land leased out to Mr. Bilour (the most corrupt railway minister ever) at peanut prices.

Some other fruit/citrus plants available from NARC are imported varieties of fig, pear, peaches, plum, grapes (many varieties), avocado (both seedling and grafted), mexican lime, china lime, eureka lime and if you have good relations with them even kiwi fruit vines.
