OLD Title :::Resignations of 23 MQM MNAs Submitted New Tile ::: pending due to dumb move

.
Waseem Badami on ARY, asked about MQM "is talakh ka, halala toe nahi hoga?":rofl::rofl:
Who tou ho ga.

Anyway, issue is not this, issue is what will MQM gain from all this? I don't think they will gain anything from these resignations. Operation will continue unabated (hopefully) and people of Karachi apparently are not in a mood to toe MQM's line, not for the time being at-least.

.
Well as much as I like to agree with you, the sentiment among the top brass, is to "clean up" the MQM. A very naive view in my opinion. Thier rationale being, that a political party with such a huge following cannot be banned.

Well I say, IF you can not ban them, just make their lives living hell! MQM, PPP, Layari Aman committee, et al. Hunt every trouble maker down. Peace at any cost!
agreed.

Do you see new opportunities for PTI in this scenario ?

.
Really... No light here so can't confirm on TV but if so then wow. I am not sure what mqm will gain from this. They can cry mazloom but it cantbne worth it. Operation will continue. Of that I am sure and they may lose a few seats if they contest in re-elections and if they boycott then pti has perhaps the greatest opportunity to expand their politics in sindh to new heights and become main opposition as well.

The next few days will show is clearly what path pak politics is taking.

A meeting of MQM members chaired by Murtaza Javed Abbasi was held in National Assembly premises.

According to latest reports, the resignations of 23 MQM MNAs have been accepted by the NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq. The Speaker sought personal confirmation from each MNA, before notifying them, told sources.

PM’s message to NA Speaker

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has sent a message to the National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, asking him not to accept the resignations tendered by MQM MNAs.

Sources confided to the ARY News that PM has assured of listening and resolving complaints of Mutahidda.

ARY News Islamabad bureau chief Sabir Shakir said PM had also urged the MQM not to submit resignations.

Resignations submitted to Sindh Assembly

The resignations have now been submitted to the SA Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani.

Five MQM Senators also join ‘mass resignations’ mode
Earlier, Farooq Sattar told media while entering parliament that all senators, MNAs and MNAs of the party will resign today. Later in his speech to the House, Sattar said the MQM was being subjected to state oppression. Ban on speeches of Altaf Hussaion is against constitution and unlawful, he lamented. He said the entire Karachi operation is targeted against the MQM. Besides, false cases are being registered against Altaf Hussain, said Sattar. He said Rangers were making way for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in Karachi. Senator Tahir Mashhadi, has said that five senators of the party have submitted their resignations to the parliamentary leader, while remaining three MQM members of the upper house will also submit their resignation letters . The meeting of MQM members has also been underway in Sindh Assembly building with Khawaja Izharul Hassan in chair. Izharul Hassan has said that the resignations will be submitted after consultations.

Altaf endorses MQM move
According to party sources, MQM chief Altaf Hussain has endorsed the Rabita Committee decision. If the party goes ahead, 25 seats of the National Assembly and 54 in the Sindh Assembly could see bye-elections. The House has a total strength of 342 which means that over 7 per cent of the total NA seats will be affected by this decision, if it is carried out by the party. The Sindh Assembly has a total of 130 seats.

MQM members of National Assembly are expected to tender their resignations in the lower house of the parliament today.

According to sources, after resignations of the MNAs, the party’s senators and members of Sindh Assembly will likely to submit their resignations.

MQM sources said that the party has repeatedly expressed its reservations over various issues with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the interior minister but the complaints not being given attention.

Speaker National Assembly responds to news of resignations

Earlier, in response to a question from journalists on the report that the MQM had decided to resign its seats from the National Assembly, the Speaker Ayaz Sadiq said: “Assuming that the report is indeed true, and if the MQM MNAs deliver their resignations to me by their own hand, I will then ask them if they are resigning voluntarily. And if they say ‘Yes’, then I will accept their resignations.”

@Irfan Baloch @waz @Slav Defence

Can you please correct the title?

there is no need for propaganda titles, the resignation have NOT BEEN ACCEPTED as yet, the title is completely wrong! AT LEAST the article in OP do not states the acceptance so either we need to update that or correct the title.!

Accepted and sent to election commission sir jeee

Source?
The resignation letters HAVE NOT BEEN ACCEPTED as yet. No matter how much i wish what you said to be true the reality is otherwise.

.
Do you see new opportunities for PTI in this scenario ?
No. PTI has not penetrated deep enough in the Urdu speaking community and PTI's harsh (at times plain profane) remarks (however justified they may be) about Altaf and MQM haven't helped either. PTI is doing politics of agitation and reaction and she is not realizing that this kind of politics is only going to make her more unpopular in Karachi.

It is time to eliminate the cancer known as MQM. It is time for Army to eliminate terrorists leadership.

PTI fronting "Imran Ismail" in the heart of urdu speaking Karachi, was as dumb as one can be, in their long line of dumb decisions!

.
Even in the general opinion of the public of Karachi, MQM is not a good political organization. No other political party wants to own the liabilities of Karachi so MQM enjoys victories in elections. Just by voicing their rights and providing a little protection against ANP, Aman Committe and Jiyee Singh, they become the sole available choice of the residents of Karachi.

PTI is totally failed in understanding the political dynamics of Karachi, in particularly Urdu speaking community. In order to win Karachi, PTI has to talk about the core issues of Urdu speaking community such as unjustified quota system, freeing Karachi from Afghan occupation, electricity, and water supply etc. Instead, PTI's entire focus is on ridiculing MQM and fielding so-called politicians who have nothing to do with large middle class of Urdu speaking community.
