lol well he is rookie, need instructor to keep him straight....joke aside. Military very much involve in handling borders and foreign policy. Specially, after US withdrawal there are chances of civil war in Afghanistan, specially recent surge of ISIS in Afghanistan.

Why don't we appoint instructor the PM?

Under article 243 shouldn't President of Pakistan issue the notification for the COAS extension. He is the supreme commander of the armed forces and not PM.

2 to 3 months before retirement COAS stat doing warewell visits. Similarly the new incumbent chief after joining take atleast 3 to 4 months to get fullly settle as he first does all formations visit. I dont know why people have a problem with Gen.Bajwa getting another term as COAS. It is all according to the law of the land as well as the need of the hour in line with the National Interest of Pakistan.

Extra ordinary war like situation and times dictate continuity of command at the highest level. That much is understood by all and sundry.

Those who are opposing this extension are actually suggesting that they dont comprehend the gravity of situation in IOK and dont consider it as worse as those who made the decision in favor of extension.

Quite imbicillic and delusional pov to think that the current unprecidented hostile and volatile situation in Kashmir is not reason enough in itself if not the larger regional and political picture.

I normally will not support such extension as it will restrict someone more capable coming through the ranks plus it also creates disenchantment within the ranks.

However, one has to look at the current LOC and Indian issue and you would not want to change your army chief at the time when there is environment of war. Accordingly the extension should not have been more than 6 months or 1 years at best.

Enemy is not at the gates. Army is an institution. Retirement of one person should have been pretty smooth. US was in the middle of two wars. General were running operation all over the world. We don’t see anyone extending in US.

Not because of extension but because of the selection of Raheel Shareef who was 3rd in seniority. Tariq was way down.

Right now, however, this extension BS will only benefit Bajwa and maybe Imran; Army could be led by other generals just as well, this extension drama is BS. Bajwa should have been man enough to resist the temptation to accept the extension.

People still don't understand what this decision cost us in the WoT. Lt. Gen. Haroon Aslam and Lt. Gen. Tariq Khan were the best choices for COAS at that time. Lt. Gen. Haroon obviously deserved it more, not just because he was the most senior, but also because he was a war hero and we needed his brain for the battlefield. Gen. Raheel on the other hand didn't even come close to that level.

About today, Gen. Bajwa will do great injustice to this institution and his colleagues who deserve to lead this Army. The change of leadership is very important. Even during wars, Generals are not given extensions. There's no justification here.

I've been reading your arguments Makkah has been attacked and Pakistan said no to assist in Yemen war hence Pakistan is at fault for not defending makkah.

First of this is a fallacy and clutching at straws. If mighty Saudia and UAE Army werent able to detect the source of BM Launches and destroy them on time. How do you expect Pakistan Army joining the yemen war would have stopped these BM raining down on Makkah or medina ?

Ok lets take your argument at face value, Pakistan would have had joined yemen war. Then What? These Ballistic Missiles would have stopped hitting UAE or Saudia ?

Saudia Arabia has sophisticated ABM to stop these rudimentary ABM. What if Houthis launched BM towards Pakistan? Would Saudia agreed to place one PAC 3 battery in Pakistan ?

Why the Ballistic missiles were not lobbed at Saudia before the Yemen Invasion?

Pakistan said no because of Operation ZARB E AZB that was at it's peak during the time invasion of yemen planned. If Saudia or UAE wasn't in the mood to join the Operation Zarb e Azb or provide support to Zarb e Azb, Why do you reckon Pakistan would have pulled out considerable chunk of its resources already committed to Operation Zarb e Azb and redeploy to Yemen ?

So Don't be an aggressor and then cry wolf that Makkah and Madina is being attacked.
