Bangladeshis are quite confident about their identity.... You are making yourself a fool if you measure them according to your scale.... Bangladeshis are muslim first... It is applicable for each and every muslim all over the world, they may be Bengali, uzbek, pathan, arab, sudanese whatever... They are muslim first.... Ask any indian practising muslim , he will answer the same...We are seperated from west bengal because we are muslims, we are seperated from pakistan cause we are bangalis.... .. We are bengali muslim, this is our identity.....

The irony is...most of the Muslims of the subcontinent are accepted "One language" as a representative and a medium of interaction between Muslims throughout this geography with a prominent exception of "Bengali Muslims"...and that's why majority's ideological and philosphical menter is "IQBAL" instead of "Tagore" and that's a big big difference between both mindsets!!!

see, this was the problem with pakistanis..... Let us define bengali muslims. Muslims with bengali culture.. .Islam had no problem with bangla language....... Thanks. There is a sticky thread 'happy independence day all bangladeshis' ! I think mods should remove it and made this thread sticky under the tag 'Bangladeshi photo thread'. so that people from india and pakistan get a clear idea about old and present bengal......i do think many pakistanis are interested about their former eastern part as well as indians who have origin in bangladesh....

Just for your Kindly Information W-Pakistanis didn’t make “Language” as a measure of differentiation in the first place…..its East who is always looking scapegoats like this one as a point of agitaion and anger towards W. Pakistan.

I’m not talking about 2011 nor 1971….i’m talking about as far back as 1949 when Bengalis on Dhaka streets on coinage issue, I’m talking about 1952 again language movement by none other than East Pakistanis aka Bengalis. I’m talking about continuous blackmailing on this issue by your leaders. By taking Language as a weapon to assault so early when there are other thorny issue of refugees, security, defence…means Bengalis wants a separate identity against rest of Pakistan when there is a need of unity and one voice. If this blackmailing accepted from one race so early…their will be a domino effects on others and we are still a young country who wants to become a nation.

Punjabis, Pathans, Sindhi, Balochi, Kashmiri and many other accepted Urdu despite it’s a language of UP, India….only because majority of the subcontinent Muslims agreed upon it otherwise…its not our mother language either!!!!

2ndly by just accepting it as a medium of interaction doesn’t means we forgo our respective mother languages….altogether….Its only Bengalis who thinks like that…bcz of their poor leaders and the mindsets I discuss above!!!

Lastly, We West Pakistanis sacrifices even our language for the Unity of Muslim Nation of the Subcontinent and that’s the proof of our belief in Pakistan’s Ideology and Ummah to the core, What Bengalis did and still doing in this respect is history.
