Well that is interesting. Vietnamese are loud mouths and if there ship full of oil is taken by iran then why r they silent?
Vietnam have been buying iranian oil secretly at cheap price and i guess there was payment issues which lead iran to seize the ship. By law, the US should sanction vietnam for not abiding by sanctions. But i guess in real world laws are not same for everyone.

They wouldn't sanction Vietnam. Vietnam threaten US to join China camp if they sanction them.

Nah, they won't be harmed. Iran is not USA or Vietnam.

We are honest people. We don’t steal. Looks like we buy oil from the US that was originated from Iran. If anything Iran can blame the US.

As per this channel, a relatively famous, well-informed and objective Youtube outlet about Vietnamese defense issues, the Vietnamese oil tanker was secretly helping Iran to ship oil to an East Asian market, probably in violation of some US embargo.

The oil tanker, owned by a little known company headquartered in Hanoi, Vietnam, was doing its routine work. Then the US navy ships appeared, trying to seize the tanker, but Iranian navy had successfully deterred the action by US navy

I am not sure if it is a 100% correct story, but there is little information from Vietnamese official media. A sensitive issue to all Iran, Vietnam and the US, I suppose.
