What about this?? any news ???
are you kidding me insas is regarded as one of the most worst modern service rifle next to British SA80We have 1.1 million INSAS in service, it will take time to select new one.
INSAS did a good job for last 20 years, now its time to replace them.
Excellent

Not really a design issue but a manufacturing issue. OFB was run be incompetence. The design of the rifle is actually brilliant. It was the manufacturing that was poor. As battle field assault rifle, it did everything required. The rifle did very well considering other rifles. But we only know of its failure because India is for the most part transparent, and needs to get audit reports to Parliament to justify money spent. No news is probably worse. When something gets shoved under the carpet you can be there were a lot of problems.are you kidding me insas is regarded as one of the most worst modern service rifle next to British SA80
Bro, your border guards are not even using INSAS. They are using AKs.We have 1.1 million INSAS in service, it will take time to select new one.

Couple of observation.
1) Quality and finish looks great, the matt finish is way better than the metallic finish
2) The Metal Magazine is a great change from the Plastic ones, still nitpicking - suggest to have a clear window along the magazine to view the no. of rounds... yes?
3) How easy is it to mechanically change the rifle to be left handed?
4) Since, the person mentions the INSAS, it best guess to say that this is a heavy upgrade of the INSAS correct?, would existing UBGLs can be used?
5) Big Q, time frame for tests, mods asked to be completed and inductions?
Are there more vids?? he did mentioned that he will show the ammo

This project is dead.
Army's new requirement calls for 7.62x51 rifles - which is why OFB developed this new rifle.
ARDE is still working on it. Only way it can fit into IA's requirement is the CQB carbine tender. It'll need to be reduced in length.
