Thought the same New Zealand hasnt built any houses in the west bank all year, i wonder when our F-35's arrive.

Are you even considering getting F-35s? Australia is a partner nation we all know that; but New Zealand? Didn't know you had signed deals with Lockheed Martin for JSF!?

It would be a serious waste of money is you ask me. Yours is one of the most peaceful countries on the planet with zero enemies or even threats almost along the lines of Switzerland. You're half the world away from all wars and conflicts; what's the need to spend billions on JSFs?

I wont be surprised if in a couple of years some F-22 are parked in israel just to maintain tech. superiority.

That's possible only if US can boost its economy once again and recover from the disaster. And that would take some serious time. Israel's JSF requirement is within US defence budget and hence feasible; but Raptors are a different situation altogether. 1 hour of flight costs $ 55,000 of maintenance work and 10 hours in hangars. That's a pretty tall order for Israel to manage even with US assistance.

Sorry for the miss understanding, the where are ours was a joke. No NZ doesnt need and cant afford F-35's. Basically i was just amazed that for a few moths of not pissingoff the Palestinians Israel gets a huge reward. After the 3 months they will probably build like mad and there will be no difference.

I agree. But Israel's existence depends on it and hence they need to keep building. US senate supports it because simply put, most of US flashy jobs, top posts etc are having Jews and presidents like Obama can only do this much.

Very soon you will see American's will be selling weapons to Iraq too.........as they are increasing their market of weapons selling, as this is the big backbone of their economy...they did their history's big weapon sale deal with Saudia, they are selling weapons to Israel and now Indians and also now offering F-16 to Indonasians and Egyptians..........

^^ None of these countries are in a war frenzy to be honest. Neither Israel is planning to invade Saudi nor vice versa. Saudi is known for big ticket purchases that flaunt their oil wealth around the world. They even are known to hire retired US and European personnel to keep their weapons maintained rather than train their own local people in various military engineering platforms.

Israel needs the weapons for their existence so no biggie there. Now Indonesia is simply being offered meaning it is their wish to buy these. They have a tiny budget and also they are not anywhere near war with anyone. So they have all the time to decide to go for it or not.

About us buying stuff; I will leave that to you to decide since you know the situation here in South Asia.

He can hit his sister harder now that he can get away on the bike easier. And lol NZ airforce don't have fighter jets anymore, they'll just have to fight in C-130s.

US-Israeli cooperation started during the Cold war, when Arabs sided the USSR. Israel provided US with tons of intelligence about Soviet weapons and shared its technologies and battle experience which helped US to develope and improve their tactics and weapons.

My mistake just checked US still has the source codes under lock and key however some sort of deal was struck between Israel and US.
