Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan "Da Mast Qalandar" Massive Attack Remix

. .
One of my favorite song ever. He was second to none..........thanks for sharing...

Thanks for pointing me to this. Great sound. Very mellow. Reminds me of some early Rasta music (Jamaican) I used to listen to in my youth. Couldn't understand the lyrics but the sound and beat are great. I watched a program on some very famous Qawwali group on our public TV a couple of years ago but the "accordion-like" instrument was more dominant in their music and the drums more in the background compared to this cut.

You're welcome.

That's because this is a remix version of the original. I'm sure you saw Nusrat on TV. Here's the actual version of this song.

Yes, your second clip is what I saw on my PBS TV channel a couple of years ago. It was a two hour special and showed the group performing in several venues as well as interviews with their fans. Nusrat is the one in the yellow shirt and brown pants in the middle I assume. Did he die recently?

Yes he died some time ago, not recently, but some 5-6 years ago.

Here is another Score I like from Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan - Afreen Afreen

he died in 1997 i-e ten to eleven years ago, i still remember, i was watching PTV, when i was studying in 2 class, when PTV started telecasting nusrat fateh ali 's memorable songs, i waited for a moment so that, my fovourite programme in PTV starts, but songs the kept repeating and repeating(i dont like many of his songs), then i asked my mom if v had any special occasion that day, so she told me that Nusrat fateh ali had died then, it was 8'o clock at night i think!!!

Nusrat fateh ali looks like a japanese, is he a japanese???, or any japnese connected to his ancestry??

"jap" is offensive to the Japanese people just as "Pak" is offensive. You shouldn't use this word if you want to be respectful to people of Japanese ancestry. Just letting you know......
