Actually, it is the government's failure. Cases are not decided based on media trials.

The prosecution (FIA and NAB lawyers) have to build a case and present irrefutable/overwhelming proof of wrongdoing for a court to give a guilty verdict. This is easier said than done, and the quality of govt lawyers is, quite frankly, usually pathetic (whereas the corrupt hire exceptionally skilled and experienced ones.)

This alludes to the rot that has taken over all our institutions and the civil service. The quality of people in the FIA/NAB, from lawyers to forensic investigators, is basically not that high --- and, even if it is, the salaries are so low and this system so rotten that they are quite easily a.) bought out by vested interests through bribes or b.) intimidated by entrenched criminal mafias.

The judiciary can do A LOT more and I am not really defending their weak and pathetic stance --- but I felt it was imp to clarify the above.
