How many missiles India purchased and how many of them can be launched against incoming missiles and fighter jets? Are they able to target a jet flying at tree top level???

can somebody answer these basic questions for me kindly!
Article in News quote around 6000 missiles. Estimates within the 6000 includes the S400 Triumf missile types and Pantsirs missiles too + some spares
Some russian folks also quoted in forum that this is phase 1 of the deal. The next Phase post operational of this 5 systems or regiments based on the price and scheme of things will have the Make iN India component.

The higher price as compared to China whose reported to have ordered 6 battalions or 2 regiments versus India's approx 5 regiments and 20 batallions also includes the Longer Ranged 40N6 400km range and upto 185km altitude missile and the 77 series HTK missiles of S-500 system which has speed of 7km/sec.

The planned phase 1 deployment seems to be 3 in Western India and 2 in Eastern in India for these regiments.

lol seriously against nasr? even if it is placed 150km away from border 80% of u r airforce stations will be covered by it most of u r cities as well will be no fly zone and on mercy of it

Pakistan has gliding bombs with 180KM range. In order to be safe, India would have to deploy S400 some 200 KM inside the Indian territory. Nasar would start and land within 60KM radius while in order to counter it, S400 would need to travel minimally 140KM and then it would have a chance to neutralize it just before Nasr lands - but if Nasr is targetting something 30-40KM inside Indian territory or if S400 intends to intersept it in the middle of its flight path - S400 would have to cover 170KM. So Nasr has a challange to complete 30-60KM while S400 would have to cover 140-170 Kilometres just to give itself a chance.

So good luck with your calculations.. if S400 are meant to save you from Nasr and its Nuclear Treatment, you are not safe against it. In my humble opinion.

You Sir are a very senior member and you should have known that to get 180Km range for your glide bombs your fighter jets need to be at least at 12Km altitude and 60miles from the target to get a clean shot which when they try would already be in range of indian sams or ground based radars and we are not just talking about those of S400 here (its a future scenario ) same for your NASR batteries as we already have WLRs to locate and give command to owr arty/Pinaka/grad/smerch batteries to take action and dont forget bhramos, prithvi, prahar & shaurya as all your targets are well within there range

So good luck with your NARS and there "nuclear lava" as only you dont have that kind of "nuclear lava" ... 'in my humble opinion'

I am still not a professional or military expert and my opinion could be wrong. _ but while you are brining your missiles into picture, you may want to know two very potent cruise missiles could also be chasing their targets within 700 KM with territory hugging capabilities, this time we are talking about 30-50 meters off the ground.

well you should know that we had already gone for green pines and 3d/4d radars for the same in addition to systems like SPYDER try google it to know what it actually means and the fact we as soon as you launch your "two very potent cruise missiles" it will be considered a nuclear attack by us and tell me about its speed and distance it needs to travel to get to there targets and how much time it needs bhramos to reach its target calculating its speed

point is we have already made required arangments for your "two very potent cruise missiles" and NASR and all that you mentioned earlier but what you have to stop what we have :azn:

Sir CM of tomahawk type is a piece of cake. Check out pantsirs.. That's what is the ultimate defence for S400 along with aakash/ spyder.. Pantsirs is a packaged deal ...

For taking out S400 you require a far advanced ajile fighter which can do terrain hugging to a extent with a very potent EW suite and use of multiple frames to do a deep infiltration mission and use an arm. Even though Pakistan does have approx 100mar 1 still launching from such a low trajectory profile limits the range to almost 25-33% of actual Hi trajectory of 100odd kms. This is where the potency of this system comes into place

Btw you can check main s400 thread, I had posted the first casualty of s400 deployment as USA had taken out f15s out of tyrkey. Truth is incapability of tackling s400 and the threat vs official line of deployment being over.

I do add a abm ability of s400 is being limited .....tbh s400 is not for nasr.. It's purely all aerial threats.. Nasr does not harm us as its deployment is more intended within Pakistan borders not into indian territory.

In case it is a threat then we do have other means like pinaka area wide destruction and prahaar or old missiles like prithvi 1 to neutralise such threats to our formations
