Now Even Britain want to be part of CPEC - Official

I am just wondering if the top officials are promoting CPEC to other potential investors.

Although this is a good business opportunities, they still need to market it.

we are not the greatest at marketing......but all in due time

I thought we were "internationally isolated" according to some hyper neighbours though... .we may not be good marketers as we should be, but we dont fabricate lies and engage in "mental masturbation" for the masses

One thing however, UK first have to clean their hands from their soil being used against Pakistan with the like of RAW and MQM. they need to clean their own deep state.

No invitation given to UK and American ambassador during the inaugural ceremony of Gawadar port was a clear sign how Pakistani deep state perceive things on geopolitical chessboard . UK certainly needs do a lot.

i am astonished that what is luring them towards CPEC, earlier Afghanistan, Russia, and now Britain; we need to take special care without jeopardizing the safety and security of our country at any level

exactly.. i dont know the reasons what is in there for them

UK wants influence in Pak and now they want that through the so-called economic ties.

Manufacturing industry is in a crisis in UK and we should not be giving their companies large access to our lands. Or at least no access to critical industries and areas as these lot are the best in world when it comes to sabotage.

I don't understand what companies this Boris is asking to setup shop. Just hot air to stay relevant.

It is Great news ,,,, But I will hold my breath till we ACTUALLY see materialistic involvement & thn WHAT kind of Involvement we are talking about ..

“I am very excited about the CPEC idea. And I would like UK firms to participate in the construction of this fabulous venture,” Mr Johnson said while speaking to students and faculty of the Government College University (GCU) here on Friday. “But this should be part of an even more ambitious vision that would revive the ancient Silk route and see the rebirth of trading caravans connecting East and West,” he added.

If Brits wants to Build something part of the project i doubt Chinese will allow that as they are not that much of excited to share a market where they are using thr excess production of steel & cement ..... However if it Means that UK want to open its own industries (Automobile & pharmaceutical Plants) or Production of item it uses itself ... in Pakistan in order to be more cost effective ... thn yes that should be the focus !

But our country should make strict rules for Gwadar Port City no compromise on international standards, management, facilities provision, and trade handling, scanning, shipping, receiving, stocking, and full forced security from one corner to other corner and with all available resources for international cargo operators at all routes and all stops for refueling, staying, or maintenance of their cargo trucks and also cargo ships etc.

Pakistan must take advantage from Britain in health and education. This is foremost important for Pakistan to have a world standard education system available for every child and also world class health system for everyone.
Good points of view UK can help Pakistan in education and health but also training the law enforcement teams in community policing, forensics and investigations.

Boris wants UK firms part of CPEC activities

LAHORE: Britain Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Boris Johnson has termed the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) a wonder project and desires UK firms to participate in its various construction activities.

On a day-long visit to Lahore as a part of his ongoing tour to Pakistan, Mr Johnson said Karachi was even bigger than Lahore with 23 million people, the 6th largest city in the world. “History and location suggest that Karachi should be one of Asia’s biggest trading entrepot alongside Singapore or Shanghai.

“The only way to achieve that goal is closer economic integration. And I believe that Britain can play a part in helping you to realise this vision,” he said.Appreciating development in various sectors, the British foreign secretary said Pakistan had made a huge progress in recent past. “National security has improved and democracy strengthened. This civilian government took over from another civilian government in a manner that was peaceful and constitutional. But, of course, we all know that Pakistani citizens continue to face a grave threat from terrorism. He said he felt that as a result, this nation’s ambition had too often been held back by rivalry and mistrust. And coming here today, and talking to people, I am increasingly confident and that this will change. “My message to you all is that Britain wants to be with you to make this journey. I believe that bilateral trade between our two countries – just £2.7 billion – is not enough given our closeness,” he said.

Mr Johnson said one reason why he was in favour of leaving the EU was that he wanted Britain to widen the horizons of our foreign policy and reinforce our ties with our friends across the world, including Pakistan. “We are not leaving Europe. We will always be part of Europe. I want a global Britain to play an even stronger role on the world stage, maximising our assets as the fifth biggest economy in the world and a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council,” he said. The British secretary of state said next year he looks forward to celebrating Pakistan’s 70th anniversary of independence. There is a huge interest in the British Parliament and government in making our relationship even closer. “I want a much more dynamic relationship. And I am excited by the opportunities created by trade and commerce, which should be the central pillars of our friendship, as befits Pakistan’s location at the heart of Asia,” he said.

Earlier, the GCU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Hassan Amir Shah welcomed Mr Johnson, took him to a tour of the campus and apprised him about the traditions and excellence of 153 years old educational institution and its role in development of Pakistan.

Oh no, No more isolation please

They may want to put some industry (full processed or semi processed goods) related to Chinese and CAC requirements making and transporting goods through it

I asked the British High Commissioner, he replied that the UK would like to join the project.

But what they want to do???

UK wants influence in Pak and now they want that through the so-called economic ties.

Manufacturing industry is in a crisis in UK and we should not be giving their companies large access to our lands. Or at least no access to critical industries and areas as these lot are the best in world when it comes to sabotage.

You mean don't forget East India Company of past.
