For example , you get 175 out of 200 marks and apply for a seat in a college and it has only 1 seat left, what would be ur reaction hearing that seat has been alloted to a jew with 55 marks out of 200 because he had reservation based on minority status.

ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet on Wednesday approved a job quota of five percent for the minorities of the country in all the government departments, reports ARY OneWorld.

Briefing the media about the decisions of the Cabinet meeting held here Wednesday with Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani in chair, Minister for Information and Broadcast Qamar Zaman Kaira said that the cabinet decided to fix the quota for the minorities keeping their grievances in view.

He said due to government’s good fiscal policies various economic indicators, including current account deficit, fiscal deficit and inflation rate, have improved significantly.

Kaira said that the country could not only be run on foreign aid and the government would impose taxes on new sections of the society. However, the number of the taxes would be reduced, he added.

The minister said that agriculture, stock markets and property business sectors would be included in the tax net from the next fiscal year.

He revealed that few countries have started dumping their products in Pakistan, saying the government would counter the practice.

Punjab Ombudsman Javed Mehmood has termed the ignoring of five percent quota allocated for minorities during the recruitments in Sargodha University as serious maladministration.

Mehmood issued these orders on the application of Sargodha University Town All Pakistan Minorities Democratic Movement Chairman Chaudhry Mushtaq Gill.

Gill had appealed to the ombudsman that five percent quota allocated for minorities had been totally ignored by Sargodha University during recruitments and the university administration was not willing to implement the rules and regulations at any cost despite repeated requests.

The Punjab ombudsman called for explanation from the Sargodha University administration in this regard, and during an enquiry it revealed that it had committed serious violation of rules during process of recruitments of employees.

He ordered Sargodha University vice chancellor and registrar to explain their case in this regard. He also ordered them to include five percent minority quota in all recruitments made after March 2010 as per constitution and rules and submit a report to Ombudsman office within a month.

Mehmood said that the maladministration of Sargodha University had been proved during the recruitment process and the minority quota had not been mentioned in any advertisement published in the newspapers by Sargodha University after March 2010.

if just being muslim give a person a pass to enter anything is what you like then you should look towards Islamic countries like yours or Middle east..India does not work in that way...

Also your understanding of democracy or secular is false as it has nothing to do with religion. it just indicates state has no religion and it just go by the wishes or its people....It does not mean to appease one community and leave others because one community has a vote bank share which can impact elections or in other words considered as vote bank..
