You guys need to understand the ideology of Norway's law, they believe in rehabilitation and not retribution. Basically 21 years is the worst punishment they have out there, and this guy got it.

The main idea behind this type of law system is that criminals are criminal because of the way they have been brought up and with proper care they can be changed into normal people again. If you see Norway's crime rates then you will find that they are very low, which does nt really make sense to us because we would expect easy punishments to mean encouragement for crime. This is a modern and very sophisticated approach to justice, but this will only work in societies where the general populace are well-educated, wealthy, have a good standard of living and are happy folks.

Max sentence in Norway is 21 years. What Brevik tried to destroy for norwegains it was important to show that they will no do as he wanted. Norway is looking into law to have more punishment for terror like this. But Brevik isnt free when he gets out.

Family members of his victums are happy now but for outsider it does not make sense. For me living here for last 16 years it make fully sense. Law must be followed and law does not allow any one to be jailed for more than 21 years.

many foreginers go to jail just to have a place to stay and when they get out they get also paid some money. Not much at all but for them its more than enough. But belive me norwegain system hurts u more than phanti in Pakistani or Indian jail. Papir work is every thing here.
