Why didn't norway go for Saab grippen? Their threat perception is not that high unless they fear a threat from the russian bear which is next to nil IMO as EU depends on Russian oil and gas. Typhoon would have also sufficed rather than going for a 150 mn $$ AC that is yet to be fully oparational.

If you dont have any enemy now doesnt mean You wont have it in future You always have to be ready

nothing wrong with ur argument but defence aquisitions are based on threat perceptions.spending over $60 billions for about 50 fifth gen aircraft when there is not a great threat perception when a good french or other european plane would suffice ur current requirement is a bit toomuch perhaps..but thats just my personal opinion.ultimately its ur money and ur decision

Russia and Norway do have the potential for territorial disputes in the arctic.
