North Korean spy ship entered Japanese waters and was -- Neutralized

. . .
I am even more surprise that North Korea has resources to fuel a spy ship but can't feed its own people.

NK focus their resource on Military, Heavy industry and Medical. Those techs are quite up-to-date, for a poor country. But their Agriculture, Light industry and Trade are laugable.

They should allocate some of the NK's resources to improve their agriculture and light industry, unfortunately, they would rather focus on their military development and nuke program.

What can we say more? They are practically still at war with SK, and the whole NK think that they should focus more on the unification effort.

According to The Guardian, "fifteen survivors were seen clinging to a buoy in heavy seas, but the Japanese ships were ordered to ignore them because of fears that they would use force to resist capture".

RIP to the dead North Koreans.

They had the misfortune of being born into the other side of the cold war cut off from the rest of the international community.

Japan should have made an effort to save them. After all, Japan is a developed country, the Japanese citizens should have more kindness for those that are less fortunate, regardless of their nationality.

Sick Japanese murdering innocent Koreans in Korean territory. Koreans will have their revenge.

I am wondering what NK TV will say about this. It'll be funny to see the angry Kim Jong-Un.
@Nihonjin1051 It would be nice if you can show us a map of where the clash happened, or else some of our Chinese mems will try to defend NK, while we all know that NK is not that good of a peaceful country in the region.

Hi @IsaacNewton ,

After the ship was disabled, North Koreans were firing on Japanese Coast Guard and resisted. Due to the damage sustained, their ship sank, and their surviving crew (armed), kept on firing on our vessels. So thus the JCG left them to the seas. Had we tried to arrest them, they would have fired on our soldiers, and we would have been forced to ...neutralize them all. About 15 are presumed dead.

In 2003 the trawler was raised by the Japanese to confirm her origin and intentions. Inspection of the hulk determined she was of North Korean origin and most likely an infiltration and spy vessel. It was revealed that the vessel was camouflaged as a Chinese or Japanese fishing boat and that she could develop 33 knots, far faster than any commercial trawler. The ship had also a hidden double hatch in the stern to be used as an exit door for speedboats. After the inspections were deemed complete the hulk was displayed at the JCG in Yokohama.

I am wondering what NK TV will say about this. It'll be funny to see the angry Kim Jong-Un.

The incident occurred near Amami Oshima Island and deep inside Japanese waters. All the North Koreans were neutralized, and their ship sunk. 4 Coast Guard Ships were sent to take care of the problem. :)

poor NKs...you should have go because their boat has already sinking and they're still shooting your vessel? with AK/Type 56's?

Yes, they were still shooting even after we disabled their ship. In fact, JCG had refused multiple times the impression of the JMSDF to intervene. Tho there were 4 JCG ships cordoning the area, there were 5 destroyers of the Japan Maritime Self Defense Force -- of the 3rd Fleet sent to monitor the region. JMSDF, if requested, could have launched an air strike , but exercised extreme restraint.

i still feel pity to them...
what kind of spy ship that NKs use (cant buffer it lol :p:)? it is just a small armed tugboat equip with RPGs and AKs or more like a heavily armed vessel? their navy has some numbers in their vessel and subs, but mostly are just midget ships and subs :woot:
